Great job! That was a refreshing list of ideas. It makes me smile because they remind me of some pleasant memories when I first starting dating someone. There was no grand plan. It was just casual, spontaneous, and convenient. 1st date) We took our dogs with us to a dog park and then afterwards we grabbed take-out from a restaurant to have a picnic. 2nd date) We started off at a Farmer’s market and then continued the date in a public garden. Again both places allowed us to bring our puppies. Fast forward to today, my wife and I have been happily married for many years, and while they are no longer puppies, our dogs are also still in love.

A great option for an active outdoor date is frisbee golf. The courses usually wind through scenic parks which gives you an opportunity to talk about nature. Throwing a frisbee is a great icebreaker and always an adventure! If the date is going well, you can pull the picnic basket out of the trunk to extend the date. So, you get a bunch of options to explore each other's personalities or cut it short if there is no interest. So glad I found your channel the other day. You and your guests have been so enlightening. Keep up the great work!

I took a girl to grab some Starbucks and we went to look at the Xmas lights and decorations through different neighborhoods. Handed her my camera to take pictures. In England quiet pubs and some bars are great for first dates. I feel sorry for Americans if there's no equivalent. Formal restaurants are not good for first dates, the across-table format can end up feeling like an interview. I find it easier for me on first dates if it involves actively moving around. Sitting idly at a table is just an anxiety enhancer. What is there to talk about? Our interests? What if there's no common ground? It's hard to improvise and come up with questions on the spot and ends up with this "buying time" mentality because I don't want to be rude and end the date. Bowling is a great first date idea, or the arcade. Not too expensive but it's active and just flat out fun! I would be disappointed if she didn't enjoy arcades.

I dunno. In my opinion any first date which relies on conversation (at least initially) can be a bit of a bad move. Both people need to be on that same mental wavelength for a long time to keep the conversation going, and if this is someone you haven't really gotten to know well prior to this I think it's more likely to fizzle out (unless you're both REALLY into each other, or the conversation). I think activity based first dates are ultimately the way to go, at least for the start of the date. Conversation-focused activities are great follow-ons, if that went well. The minigolf and museum recommendations are the best here, I think, because it gives everyone something to divert attention to and be engaged with instead of feeling like they need to perform in a conversation. As well, conversations just seem to flow a lot more naturally this way. :)

Funny story with regards to outdoor picnic.. I took my gf on to the beach on our first date. I had a bottle of wine but forgot to bring a wine opener. I used a fork to push the cork in and when it was almost in, the metal fork broke. I ran to the nearby bar about a minute away. It took the guy there 20 minutes to open it. I ran back to the Picnic when it was opened and literally as soon as I got there it started raining. We grabbed our things and ran inside to my hotel room. (The beach was outside the hotel.) She asked "ummm what do we do now"? I was like "we're gonna have a picnic"! I spread the blanket on the floor and we had the best date ever! She is now my gf. The reason I'm typing this out is firstly because it was a domino of fails but mainly to show that if you're in a situation that's out of you're control, be creative and adapt to the situation. #1. It's likely to actually be more fun and #2. She will definitely be hella attracted to you!

No to anything sit down. It's alot harder for guys to converse with someone for the first time. Do something fun, active and that will illicit high emotions. That will set you apart from all the other first dates. Worst case if no second date is that you did something fun! Instead of walking around aimlessly in a park or museum, I did a scavenger hunt offered online. Some of the challenges involved getting selfies so that brings you together. I have also done an escape room before but that was a second date since it required me to pay for both tickets. The extreme case would be taking a girl skydiving. My friend knew of a guy who always did that and the girls always loved it because of the thrill. He was probably rich but this just gives you an example of a high emotion activity.

One thing to add as far as outdoor dates - you don't want it to be TOO warm out either. Sweating profusely when its over 90F would be nasty and not particularly sexy. Of course I recall you mentioning you are based in Cleveland, where winters are nasty cold, but summers are really pleasant and usually don't get too brutal. Spring and fall in most parts of the country are often the best.

This video is fire! I have done just about all of these and have just about always enjoyed myself regardless if my date wasn't clicking with me. My 1st date with my current gf was at a Museum in the afternoon, dinner, then walk around the park. I'm fairly introverted and don't like noisy and rowdy places like bars so I never picked those types of places on any date. You should always do something that appeals to your interests, especially for guys since girls generally expect the guy to pay on the 1st date.

I think the whole point is to make a connection with each other. Think of a place where u can talk where money or not too money is involved. A first date can be at a bar where u have "A" drink or two and sit at a table. Ive been to a bar we connected, we lasted for a year. Another we last for 3 years and some change. A park, a lounge area, a cafe. Get that convo goin to where she earns the right for a second date and then u can spend money on her, or not...🤷🏾♂️.

Love these ideas! The museum/botanical gardens and Brewery/wine tasting I would not think of on my own.

For the first date (or maybe more 2 or 3): Netflix or DVD Annie Hall 'n chill. Lots of openings for conversation along the way or afterward! And I still get a tear or two at the end, can't help it ... "because we need the eggs."

ice cream, park, beach, riverside walk, outdoor dining are my favorates. i have tried coffee, brunch, ice cream, park, beach, riverside walk, hike. museum, mini golf, picnic, farmers market, brewery tasting are interesting ideas to try! coffee can goes a little too intense because of the anxiety of silence break, same to brunch. hike is distracting for me as i can focus only on the hiking or conversation lol.

Wife and I had our first date a Pizza Hut and had my daughter and her two friends at a table next to ours. Always have friends nearby.

I mean, are you talking about first date or first meeting because I do online dating first meeting isn’t even a date. I just called it a meet and greet and that’s just a quick drink because you want to meet in person for the first time and see if there’s any physical chemistry if they look like who you expected you know so best for that is just have a quick drink and if you like each other, you have a couple of drinks, etc..

I find getting outside for something simple like a walk around a park then a drink/ coffee. I love sports so I try to get them into it, like sailing, rock climbing, cycling. But if she’s not into it, something like swimming/ hiking are great options.

A first date is a nerve racking experience because it's pretty much that first impression another person gets about you. It can almost feel like make or break. But it should be all about getting to know each other and developing a connection. A nice way to start the week,though...another video from Courtney. :)

Focus more on how your date fits your values, preferences, interests ect. It'll get you out of your head and stop you from thinking about yourself too much

I'm a vendor at a Farmer's Market in a college town. The women who attend ( and there are many) are healthy, spry, at ease and in good spirits; and often in social groups So it is also a place to possibly meet a potential partner. Just be gentlemen, because it is not a bar scene.

Got a date next week and she's the one who actually suggested food and a couple of drinks... exactly what I was thinking too but she beat me to it. Not really sure what this means but I'm equal parts excited and terrified

Of course i would be late to this lol but these first date tips are certainly worth the wait Courtney. I actually think coffee is a great first date because if you not feeling the person, you can easily just leave. However if the date is going well, you can suggest going for one of the outdoor options. It gets hot here in Louisiana so i would probably choose something that would keep me in my date cool yet engaged. Also i love that farmers market idea. We get those here in the spring/summer. Thanks for your help. Have a lovely day 😊🌼

Museums are a great first date, mini golf is good if you just throw in a little challenge in the middle, and going out for like ice cream/frozen yogurt/ snocones.
