Why dont you use a neutral Density filter to cut the ambient light in the background? Wouldn't that help keep the shutter low?

Reminds me of this time where I couldn't get a client to smile. He brought his friend. I asked the friend to stand behind me and make faces. I got some nice shots of the client smiling as a result. Loving the 35 1.4 shots, I belive thats the best focal length for street style. You get the separation of the primes, and the compositional possibilities of a wide angle lens. The 85 and 135 is more like to impress newcomera with the blob behind the model, but the 35 has its own look

Would love to see you breakdown the pros and cons in your workflow for AD200 vs. AD400 vs. AD600. Like indoor vs. outdoor, etc. You’ve brought the AD600 around with you in the past but you’re now on the AD400. Too heavy? Overkill for most work? Also for something portable do you see much value in the massive soft light modifiers like the 48 inch sizes? Or do you think 36” is the sweet spot because it’s still portable?

Exactly what I was thinking. Besides that, I'm regularly in windy places. How to easy prevent gear from falling over?? I'd love a separate battery, preferably V-mount so it's also compatible with anything else but the flash. All this dedicated equipment is pilling up space and money without bringing versatility. Would love to see more manufacturers think outside the box. I believe Markus did an awesome video about flash and diffuser size, should look that up.

I just bought the 400 and liked it so much I was about to get a 600 as well. Then I saw the size difference. It’s significant. The 400 fits in my bag while the 600 would be tough. Just a factor to consider.

I have the ad600pro but looking at pictures the difference in size is not overwhelming. I rather have more power for those sunset shots and not push the light to the limits. Now the ad300 is a game changer. That you can put in a camera backpack in place of a speedlight but we runi to power issues like at sunsets and beach shoots.

I am a beginner, I left today all happy with the solete to take photos and it would not let me go over 1/200 speed, if I put automatic mode I would go up to 1/380 or 1/400 alone and in manual mode it does not let me ... ... When you really darken the background like this you end up with really deep/black shadows. You've got a large light source, but, it's too high. You need to bring it down so the middle of it is basically even with her face. That way you get some fill under her chin. The dark shadow under her chin looks a little weird, particularly if you light the neck.
