I used to find the advice ‘the best diet is the one you can stick to’ and that you WILL pig out if you restrict really u helpful as I didn’t recognise that/refused to in myself. I have however had such success in eating in a calorie deficit and then upping my calories to maintenance as I lost weight and put on muscle, it needed a bit of tweaking at first as I was too hungry at 1700 calls a day but a bit of testing and I’ve lost the weight I wanted to and am on a sustainable diet. I too still at chocolate and cake but just not as often or as much (half a slice of cake serving spread over two days!). It truly is the only advice you should listen to - do NOT restrict

How many calories did you eat?? And did you gain back the weight when you stopped diet?
@leoluis433 жыл бұрын
I was reading about how when you stay in a caloric deficit for a long period of time it can be harder to lose weight because your body acclimates to that low caloric intake. Could you talk about caloric zigzag dieting?? Love the vids !!! 😊
@jagodabrie4112 жыл бұрын
Low calorie intake is not the same as calorie deficit. Deficit means less than you use/burn, while low intake means low amounts regardless of usage. You can eat 2500 calories a day and still be at deficit if your activity level is high enough.

Hi. Great video. I’m enjoying your content and approach. Just a few things. The volume eating thing is often a tool used by people with ED or DE and should be approached with caution if you have a tricky relationship with food. Having said that I used it myself and still do-I fill the pan (like a stir fry type of thing)with veg first and add the protein next and the carbs last. I find this makes me eat more veg and then incrementally less of the other two and feel like I’m having a massive meal. The other thing I do I keep cup measures in the jar with oats/buckwheat flakes and rice and pasta so I have the same amount each time or at least am in control of what I have without having to use scales or numbers. I’m obsessed with porridge made with frozen fruit, ground ginger, seeds etc at the mo. So good. Oh and peanut butter if it’s that kind of day. Yay.

Hey have you ever looked into calorie density? It looks kind of like what you are doing here. It's kind of like focusing on eating more lower calorie foods like fruits, vegetables and starches. It really is close to what you said here. I like that you mentioned that. =) edit: you totally talked about this at the end, I am soooo excited! We need more people to know about this. In the vegan community we all know about it but in the non vegan community lots of people don't know about it. Thank you so much girl!

My biggest challenge was transition from frying/boiling stuff into cooking on steam. The biggest difference is steamed potato compared to boiled one. Taste is completely different. Honestly, i was using a bunch of sauces at first time to loose that taste but eventually i got used into eating steamed food. This kind of food is high volume food. But what attracts me more is that cooked on steam food looses only about 5% of useful microelements compared to huge 50% loss when you frying things (30% for boiling).

@@mc_va steam cooking is really wide when you dive into worldwide recipes... for example its really cool to make chinese pancakes (its low cal. pancakes) on steam all at once (on a dish) and they wouldn't stick to each other at all in the process

I lost a lot with a keto diet. once in cetosys you can focus on protein intake like just enough for your weight and your metabolic expense. In my case it's 1600 calories a day, meaning 60gr of protein a day. I eat this amount of protein with 8 eggs for example. But I prefer to vary pleasure with other sources, but always measuring the intake. I complete my other nutrients with vegetables. My glucose intake comes from only vegetables like tomatoes, carrots and so on, but only to 5% max. usually I'm under 1600 calories with no hunger as I consume my own fat.

I base all my meals around protein but it's not something that's very common among any country I've lived in. Easy starts are protein powder to oatmeal, smoothies, baked goods, etc. Habit of havings things like fruit with a bit of Skyr, 0% Yogurt or cottage cheese on the side. Cook meals with protein in mind, fish/meat alternatives or bringing the balance up with beans, quinoa, seeds, nuts etc. Just consider the overall calories too. Socially it's an endless protein dance, on my own it's all about getting fats in (flax seeds to the rescue). But if I have to resort to a protein shake I will, but I rather eat my food.
