The Snare Buzz plugin seems really useful. Addictive Drums (and many other drum plugins) have a snare buzz control that increases the realism of other drums vibrating the snare wires, especially the kick drum. However, lots of drum plugins/sets don't have that function, so it's nice to have in a plugin, and pretty neat that other instruments could trigger snare buzz, such as a bass guitar, which makes it sound like the drummer and bass player are playing in a room together.👍

Thank you for this, I found a couple of plugins that are useful. The first one I couldn't say no to is Arturia Analog Lab Play as I used to have V Collection on my old computer a decade ago at the time I got it on offer but as I have been unemployed for just over a year the free Player version means I can still use at least some of those sounds plus it also has sounds from other instruments I didn't previously have like the B3 organ and even some Fairlight and Emulator samples. I also downloaded Sanjay's Music Box while it was free.

Have you not tried Revo uninstaller? It can find everything left behind and also can remove registry entries when you remove a plugin. Just the free version...

Wasnt able to get any of the few plugins I tried to get. Some links were broken, some require a trial membership, some you have to make accounts and wait for them to email you, some use shady file transferring sites. If any of these are actually quick and easy to get, please let me know which ones.

Note that the 1928 Vintage Piano is missing over an octave on the bottom. It appears to only have a 76 key keyboard instead of the full 88 keys of a grand piano. Just sayin' Also, it has a lot of odd sounds built in. A phaser on a grand piano, really? But maybe that's what some people like. And, finally, the file names are so long, I can't read the important parts in the Kontakt panel. The basic piano has a pretty decent sound, but I'll have to work with it to compare to the other pianos I have. BTW: if I missed something, please let me know. Thanks! I do appreciate the list of freebies. I already have some of these, and I'm checking out a few of the others as well.

I have a Yamaha MU50 collecting dust somewhere so I got curious! If you use Cubase then Cubase SX3 have a script for the MU50 (but not Cubase 10.5). So somewhere in between it disappeared.

@@jockewick7110 Thank you for your reply. I found it. I found the same script bundled in with Script Maker but the XG voice mapping didn't match the Sound List so I've be doing some editing. I think I have it in sync with the Sound list and I was able to load it in Cubase 13. I just finished it so I haven't had a chance to test it yet... Now I just have to figure out how to access the effects, which is what I was really after. Also, if you decided to add your MU50 to your studio, let me know and I can send you my patch script or an xml file. You also have to make sure that you add it to the following paths - C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 13\Scripts\patchnames\inactive\yamaha and C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 13_64\Scripts\Patchnames\inactive\yamaha. Thanks Sanjay......... The Arturia "freebie" is demo only ....even though their web page says Free .... none of the sounds are free just the player. I have recently bought a Keystep 37 (which is great) and thought it came with plenty of software. I have been an NI user for years ..... they have plenty of free software when you purchase their hardware. ..... thanks again for all the great tips.

For PC users, Regency doesn't have a VST (VST2/VST3) version, only CLAP, Native FL, and standalone. So you can't use it in a DAW that doesn't support CLAP.

This was great. I already had a few of these but discovered some more interesting ones. Now, oddly enough, I'm NOT a musician. My interest in sound in mainly in regards to Foley and sound design (but not scoring ... at least not pass very basic scoring) for video / film. One thing I'm trying to organise is a way for me to PLAY my sound effects. In other words, make a library of my footstep sound effects into a sample player and then use a MIDI keyboard or drum pad to play those footsteps (or laser blasts or ... you get the idea) in time with the video (inside Reaper). Any suggestions for that both in terms of VST and Hardware (midi keyboard or other)? Right now, I either add them one by one or mave a few of those sounds on one sound file so that when I do my footsteps pass I can trim the sound to one step, copy paste and then time shift to another step in the sample. Just trying to find a way to be more efficient. :)

You can add them to a software sampler (like Decent) and then play them with a MIDI controller keyboard. By the way, I hope you downloaded the Sci Fi FX plugin because you can play those on a midi controller.

If you don’t have a controller but you have an iPad or tablet or even phone - try koala sampler. You can drag and drop but it’s all depends on your audio interface or lack thereof. But check it out nonetheless. Best $10 you’ll ever spend

If you have a bit of cash - Roland SP 404 mkii is the best. It has a vst plugin and again drop and drag but so much more. Its a sampler, effects unit, chromatic sequencer etc etc

Still finding out what to use. i got a Machine MK2 and a Machine Jam, i like native instruments. But since i "restarted" again a few days back i been enjoying FL Studio.. I really want a keyboard with some pad's. been eying the M-audio oxygen pro 49 (after touch) , or the Komplete a49.. i dono what to get..... FL keys 49 ?!?!?!........ can i rebind keys on them can i use the fl on another program, can i use the komplete 49 in fl studio ?

I recently noticed that my Analog Lab V's interface changed to what is similar to the Analog Lab play. But it says Analog Lab Pro instead of Play or Analog Lab V. Does the play version add anything that the pro version doesn't have?
