Lorewise this was a catastrophic loss for the Raven Guard. The Militia just need like a week to recruit that many infantry, and just need to empty an alley or 2 of their many Hive Cities. While the Raven Guard's going to need like a decade or 2 to replenish those marines. Great game though, glad you could save the footage, this was a ton of fun to watch.

In my head it’s the artillery that did it mainly. And explains why the marines like shock and awe. They get bogged down by heavy ordinance they are done son. They need to hit the enemy fast and rough and hard before the heavy ordinance looks at them.

I just love that there is so much militia on the table it was physically impossible for the Ravens to flank the army. The first turn: "oh that was some brutal shooting!" Then the camera pans up and shows you the other 7 1/2 feet of militia that are untouched.

Seeing the swarm of Imperialis Malitia has gotten me to pick up my paint brush and start on my Guardsmen again. Cheers! Got 50 of 330 infantrymen painted. Also I cheered at 1:19:00 when 15 seconds after saying "Im going to beat him with a stick," said levy then beat a space marine to death with several pointy sticks.

Imperialis militia is the most fun ive ever had while playing a wargame. Their rules are complete bananas. Get yourself a buddy and give it a go on TTS. Amazing time. My tyrant general shot his remaining bodyguard and was the eviscerated by Kurze. Perfection. Thank you so much for this.

The heavy support squads should've been able to reroll armour saves against the blasts due to having the heavy unit type. Either way, still a fantastic game.

Narratively the "mistake" makes more sense than the rule anyway. Cataphractii shrugging off blasts cos "heavy" makes sense, but when you're heavy due to big guns not tons of armour, it doesn't really figure.

Excellent game! Heads up on your Heavy Weapon Squads, though - they have Heavy, so get to re-roll armour saves against blast weapons! It was cathartic, as a blast-heavy militia player myself, to see them actually out down those pesky Autocannon squads even so!

Two things re: this battle. 1) Up until now, I have always believed that whoever rolls the most dice per turn, wins. Now, . . . 2) I have a little portable table I use for rolling dice on, to prevent knocking over terrain and rerolling dice sitting sideways. I can now add No Space Due To Models to my list.

Yeah militia are rough to play. The army isnt just bad, its shockingly bad. Idk who thought it was a good idea to make the battlecannon a small blast with ap4 on a 120 point tank. Not to mention 3rd line turning all glances into pens on it.

@sturm9087 I agree! I've played IG for decades and was hoping to use them in 30k. Sadly it's just is horribly unbalanced and weak. I had dreams of Solar Auxilia getting Vulture and Vendetta as a way to make them unique and more mobile, that won't likely happen. Instead our main transport gets hit with a weaker gun and most of the weird/fun choices removed. Heck they removed the weapon from the shuttle!

@@newtpondskipper definitely recommend you check out the panoptica fan patch for militia and solar auxilia. It makes the army so much more viable and fun to play, I know 3 militia players and they all use it for their armies. I wouldnt play my militia without it. Check out liber panoptica for the patch rules for the official militia stuff and liber imperatus for the rules for the rest of the imperial guard vehicles and equipment. It gives solar auxilia and militia access to valkyries and I think the other aircraft as well. They have different names but the stats and weapon loadouts are the same when you match them up.

Great batrep. I love my Militia, pain in the arse for events but otherwive I love them ❤ wish there was more batreps with militia out there. Only thing is I think the Las cannon rapiers are not able to make shooting reactions.

If we do get the 3.0/2.5 edition update next year, I do hope they get the armies closer in balance. I’m never looking for 1 to 1 balance, but they can get a lot closer than they currently are. Making the legions closer and making SA, Militia, and Mechanicum able to actually go up against astartes and have a chance without only able to play a very specific list and that’s your only option. Give guard and solar and knight players a chance. I know Mechanicum can win, but it seems you have to run more specific units all the time. It just limits the list options. Great game though. I know Lore Reasons, but it’s also a game and we should want as many different players and armies and combos as possible. Here’s hoping.

I'm not sure if you've changed the settings on your camera winters, but you've got a weird warping effect on this video and the one with the eldar where the farground seems to get warped.
