Having a Hawaiian themed dinner tomorrow. Tested the recipe using peeled and unpeeled shrimp. It is so easy and amazingly delicious. The sauce really compliments the garlic flavor. Verdict: use the unpeeled shrimp. Really adds so much flavor. Messy but worth it!!

@KahlevN6 жыл бұрын
I'm always really confused about cooking shrimp with the shells on, then removing it later (along with all the flavorings that are put on it) when you eat it. Why not just remove the shells first, so the flavorings stay on the shrimp, what good does flavoring just the shells do? To me it would be like cooking skin-on chicken, flavoring just the skin side, then once the chicken is cooked pulling the skin off and throwing it away and eating the bare unflavored chicken.
@foetwenny6 жыл бұрын
Have you tried eating them with the shell on? I was skeptical but my wife convinced me to try it and it is delicious. There is so much flavor in the shell. I only do this when there is lots of delicious stuff on the outside, like this recipe. For simple shrimp dipped in cocktail sauce, I do peel them.
@KahlevN6 жыл бұрын
Carl U. Yeah but they don't even do that in this video they pulled the shells off before eating the shrimp. Which means they're pulling all of the flavorings off as well.
@apri_evon84636 жыл бұрын
Keeping the shells on adds more flavor and keeps the shrimp juicy. The flavor gets trapped between the skin of the shrimp and the shell and concentrates the flavor. It’s all about preference.
