You should have titled this video: "Zero Continues to Display His Biases for CC, Indisputably Proving That He Has Been Enslaved by Her GeASS." Who can blame him though? As a fellow CC enjoyer, certainly not me. Another fun video, guys! Maybe I should try doing a tier list of some kind, since they seem to be all the rage? I tried a top ten list for a video in the past, but it didn't capture much of an audience. The tier list format is a fun idea, so I might try something like that myself in the next couple months.

Honorable mention to Suzaku who kind of had a Geass power. After Lelouch commanded him to live, from that point on the Geass was constantly helping and forcing him to never make a life ending mistake in a fight. It was part of the reason why he was able to beat the Knight of 1.

5:14 if Bismark's opponent can create a scenario a few seconds in advance that allows for no escape, he can be defeated. The real victory comes once the only future he can see is one where he loses. Suzaku essentially enforces upon him the knightmare combat equivalent of a mate in 3. It's exactly like how in Mushoku Tensei, Rujierd is able to defeat Rudeus even with his eye of foresight ability because of the sheer difference in raw skill between them.

I wonder how Charles’ geass would work if he rewrites memories to drastically change a person’s current state. Like, if he rewrote someone’s memories so that they remember being stabbed one hour ago, how would they feel given they do not have a stab wound at the present? Would a stab wound appear, or would they imagine one?

I imagine it would be something similar to the phantom limb syndrome, where a person who recently had an arm or a leg amputated can imagine sensations like an itch or a pain on the limb that is no longer there. In this case, the person would probably imagine the pain of a stabwound, but wont die as no actual blood is lost. This raises the next question; would they be in perpetual pain, or would the lack of dying from the ''wound'' aid them in breaking the Geass?

the thing about Rolo's Geass power is that we are told that the more someone uses a Geass the stronger it becomes (stronger as in becoming permanently active), like what happened to Mao or Lelouch. That means that if Rolo kept using his Geass to where it became permanent, then the drawback of his heart stopping would also become permanent which would just kill him anyway

The thing about sight based Geass abilities is they are very easy to get around the drawbacks provided it's nothing serious, like your heart stopping in Rolo's case. For Lelouch he can just where contacts as seen in the show, but in Marianne's case all she would have to do is where a blindfold or just keep her eyes closed until she needs to use her Geass, although i don't remember if her Geass had any major drawbacks to using it@@xenoxtrollik4150

C.C.'s Geass is strong, but its ability to defeat another depends entirely on the mindset and motivations of the opponent, making it undependable It forces people to love her, but what "love" means or what people are willing to do for love can vary wildly, and often do not align with the wants and goals of the subject of that love, as was made clear enough in the story The actual best Geass might be one from Akito, but that's another discussion entirely

C.C.'s interactions with Mao and her reaction to his actions towards her heavily imply that she has never had to deal with that kind of "love" ever before even in centuries long life. We can therefore infer from that that the behavior her Geass elicited from others was somehow never explicitly harmful to her in any meaningful way, especially when you consider how casual and blasé her attitude was in regards to receiving the affections of others in the flashback, and given that she had it for what appeared to be quite a few years, the fact that she was never kidnapped or excessively harmed by anyone to the degree that she would fear and curse the ability she was given, and not just mildly annoyed by the constant bombardment of gifts she was receiving speaks volumes. It's clear that she doesn't really have any real amount of control over the exact way in which the love she inspires in people manifests itself specifically in their actions, her own personal wants at the time don't really seem to have any impact towards it either, given the previously mentioned annoyance. What isn't clear is why her Geass never impacted her negatively in an extremely severe manner even just a few times if it was the case that it actually depended that much on the individual in any meaningful manner. 15% of women experience some form of legally punishable stalking at least once in their life, and I imagine that few, if any of them possess a supernatural ability that forcibly compells others to love them, so since C.C. was able to develop her Geass to the degree that she did without becoming imprisoned in a cabin somewhere or anything like that, and wasn't even somewhat cautious of the possibility, means that she was either just impossibly, ludicrously lucky to an absurd extent, or, far more likely, the range of behavior the Geass can elicit from people is limited in such a way that it prevents them from knowingly taking actions that would cause her bodily harm. Worth mentioning that being extremely fearful of physical violence is a huge character trait of hers that displays when she reverts to her former slave persona, constantly hiding herself behind things and such, might be relevant given her explicit mention of the fact her ability was borne from her desire to be loved, people not hurting her like that very well might be baked into it as a condition from the start.

Personally i think rolo deserves the win, cause he can activate his geass within a nightmare to effect others in their own nightmares. In short, he doesnt need eye contact or contact in any form. He can just get close to them without them noticing and then stop time and they dead. But thats just my opinion. Amazing video!!! Keep up the great work !!!

Just a small tidbit about Lelouch's and Charle's geass Lelouch's geass seems to wane in power when the victim is near death as you can see with euphemia resisting her order against suzaku and Shirley not reacting much to her order to live (Both their eyes showing the geass flickering instead of staying on to complete the order) Lelouch comments on Charle's geass being able to suppress his own during their meeting because of their similar activation requirements and is why he did the reflection trick to catch Charles off guard ( assuming Charles didn't have his geass on during the stand off). And this is all from Lelouch's assumption that Charle's still had geass so we're not sure if his assumption was right or wrong since Charles already traded his geass for a code instead and just pretended to die because he's dramatic like that

@@KatoBeyond I'm not sure if it's breaking, but because Euphemia is unable to perform the request of the Geass, it therefore fades. As if they are unable to do it, then the Geass will try it's best to make them do the next best thing (such as Clovis pointing to his siblings for Lelouch's question.) Though, it's also possible that she has a sort of resistance to Geass because of it being previously used, but then cancelled. It looks like the brain is physically changed during this process (at least, that's how I see the images we get when Lelouch's geass activates.) so I think it's possible that resisting, combined with being unable to use it, and the resistance she possibly gained from it. Then again, because the Geass affecsts the mind, the lack of blood to the brain probably didn't help with the effect of Geass.

Nunally also resisted it for a while and she was fine (not close to death). Thing is "they cant do stuff that goes against themselves", like Euphie's principles or Nunally honestly believing that "Lelouch getting the key is the worst thing that could happen to him and the world". Shirley's case is different as the Geass doesn't seem to provide physical enhancement to complete orders and even if it did, only a Code's regeneration could've saved Shirley.

I think the 2nd Geass you mentioned, the Puppeteering one, has those "limitations" because the geass user in that scene was still a child. He was still grasping how to use it. So in my opinion what we saw was just the early stages of it, the geass not fully evolved yet.

I think that's just one option. Another that comes to mind would be: Eye contact is only needed to "attach the strings". Which would mean it could allow for an infinite amount of puppets that can be controlled at any time. That would also put it quite a bit higher just with time passing.

I think you're underestimating Rolo's Geass. If we're talking about it specifically, then it's automatically S tier. The range is massive. He and Lelouch were escaping. It range was long enough to affect everyone in an airship. Mind you this is with Rolo. He had a weak heart, that's why it was dangerous for him to use it, and yet look at the damage it could do. So with the ability to stop someone's perception from mid to long range, the user can use it and run over to kill someone. And he can take breaks too as we saw him display. Use it for a seconds at a time and you'll be teleporting in someone's eyes without them knowing what's going on. So in a 1v1, Rolo's reigns supreme. Except for CC's as she doesn't need to perceive time for her Geass to work.

The big difference between Charles and Lelouche's Geass is that while one commands and another rewrites memories. One can only use the command once on a person after that it'll never work on the same person again. Where as the one that can rewire memories can be broken with pure will power unlike Lelouche's command otherwise Euphemia would've broken out of Lelouche's Geass. So essentially its Quality of the Geass ability to be undenied or the Quantity factor that you can use it on the same person more then once unlike Lelouche's.

@@leobastian_ that's because Euphemia is special she had so much more will power than anyone else even more so than Lelouche and yet it still took everything she had just to get out of it. The geass performed on her was literally against her very nature which is why she had a glimmer of a chance to get out of it during her death after she murdered so many Japanese. As we seen Lelouche make many people commit suicide yet it took someone like Euphemia who was given a geass against her nature to be able to barely resist thus proving just how powerful Lelouche's geass was to charles since someone like Leouche gave up to him quite a few times and yet he had no difficulty breaking through despite his memory lost. In fact I believe Euphemia was only able to break out of it once she realised she had to kill Suzaku which was impossible for someone like Euphemia. But honestly good eye my guy I actually completely forgot about it till you mentioned it

My head canon is that Bismark's geass is entirely dependent on the personality of his opponent. Therefore, Lelouch's commanding Suzaku to 'Live' overrides Suzaku's personality and finds the quickest way to safety, meaning Bismark wouldn't be able to read it.

I guess In that way its sort of similar to Mao's Geass reading one's thoughts. The major difference being Bismark shows what one is planning to do, rather than what one is currently thinking about. One would think that would make Mao's Geass better, though we have seen information overload is a weakness of Mao's Geass, while Bismark is much more precise.

Suzakis live command is basically a geass of its own causes suzaku to magnify strength and resolve that borders on superhuman, if it is possible to win a fight the live commands will force suzaku to do it no matter the consequences,

Great video, but you should've mentioned that Lelouch can only use his power on someone once. If he doesn't plan ahead and gives someone a random command thus wasting his one chance, his power won't work on that same person again when he'll need it most.

I always figured that Bismark's geass read his target's *intentions*, not strictly their future. Geass abilities are wholly psychological, after all, so it would make more sense for it to be a precise and refined form of mind-reading than anything in the domain of precognition. And in the fight against Suzaku, Suzaku has already been inflicted with Lelouch's command to live, which we've seen override his consciousness on other occasions, so my read of things is that Bismark was reading Suzaku just fine until Lelouch's command overwhemed Suzaku's mind and *changed his plans*, disrupting Bismark's counterattacks and giving Suzaku the edge he needed to win.

Marianne geass is actually S tier, being able to take over someone's body incuding enemies gives more than enough combat advantage. and even basically makes her immortal she can switch bodies right before she dies and keep real body alive. but in anime it wasn't possible against VV. Her and Lelouch geass are my favourite.

I'd argue Mao should be above Bismarck or even S tier when fighting geass users because mind reading could also be used to predict an opponent's next move and in theory fight other eye contact geass because you could close your eyes against them and let their mind be your eyes. Mao has shown that fake outs and mixing up your thoughts naturally aren't enough to stop him in a 1v1. Of course it still comes down to the users natural fighting ability and how they can handle so much information at a time. Same logic applies for rolo. Stop their "time" then damage their eyes. what are they going to do about it?

Reading minds is slower than actually seeing things happen. Before it happens. U have to react to any and all changes as it happens. Reacting to something is faster then reacting to a reaction. Any decision made to reading Bismarck’s mind will already be known to Bismarck’s future sight before Mao can began his move.

mariane: uses her geass on the enemy gaining control, gives the enemy body alethal wound(similar to what captain ginyu did in dragonball). Mariana goes back to her body. The enemy wakes up only to die a few seconds later. Easy win

Rolo's "weakness" isnt a weakness of the geass as much as it is a faulty creation/rendition of the geass's full power. Of course Rolo himself is subject to the weakness, but if it was in a person without the problem of their heart stopping every time they used it, his ability would be top 2.

Lelouch’s geass can partially do what charles’ can. He can command you to forget something or to remember something that didn’t happen. Imo Lelouch’s geass is the best and most versatile, shame it can only be used once on the same person tho.

Thing is Lelouch can essentially just keep his geass always active on any target. He does this by commanding people to be his slave. Essentially always having control over there actions. He can even add a command prompt to make them retain their will until he snaps his fingers or something

uhm.... Marianne... possess their body, shoot herself in the head or somewhere fatal, swap back to her body or to the next geass user.... in one on one fights this ability is borderline unstopable, especially against Lelouch who also needs to establish eye contact

A thought about Marianne's Geass. If she can transfer her mind to another body, she could easily control a person of influence to manipulate something in her favor, or even make others self-harm before changing back to her own body. I think If used to this extent It's very powerful.

Things to consider when it comes to Charles and Lelouch, they did directly go 1v1 and if we discount Charles’ immortality after getting the code, he lost to Lelouch’s order. That being said we’re not entirely sure if he can use his Geass on a person more than once so that’s something to speculate on as well. Regardless on that moment alone, Lelouch has canonically won against Charles based solely on their Geass prowess

I'd like to add some Geass from non-anime sources (games/novels etc): - Rai Sumeragi: Same as Lelouch, but instead of eye contact, the target must hear his voice. - Marybell mel Britannia: Turns anyone into her slave. Requires eye contact - Orpheus Zevon: Able to mimic anyone's appearance, voice, and even demeanor. - Leila Malcal: A natural version of Jeremiah's geass canceller

One advantage of Charles' Geass is that he can use it on the same person as many times as he wants while Lelouch can only use his on a person one time unless it's undone by a Geass canceler. I think so at least. It's possible Lelouch was once again scared of it because he broke Charles' Geass thanks to CC.

Honorable mention, the geass in Re:surrection of Shala or shama idk i don't remember her name. It's beyond broken, as it basicly secures you a reset indefinetly. It's definetly niche, but it is basicly a get out of jail free card, before you are even sent to jail once you go back. It's basicly Subaru return by death. The only problem with it is that it is set to like 9 hours backwards, meaning you can't just off yourself at a mistake and just go back like a few seconds, making it less convinient

One major potential weakness of C.C.'s power depends on whether or not the requires you to see her physically, in person, or if just any image merely representing her would be sufficient. If it's the former, then anyone in a Knightmare would be effectively immune to her ability provided that they've never seen her previously to that point, for the same reasons why most other Geass fail to work through electronic interfaces like that, plus any fully automated system could take her out as well. There may also be a maximum effective range, the effect probably eventually ends after a certain amount of time once the user leaves their sightline (otherwise C.C. would be constantly followed by a massive army of the literally tens of thousands of people she had to have met over the years through all the parties and shit, and therefore would've had a far more disastrous impact on the local economy and the world around her than she was ever implied to.) and there might also be some shenigans you could pull that would depend on if it works off the targets own personal conception of "love", or if it forces them to operate by C.C.'s/some other arbitrary abstraction preset by the Geass. But in the time period where she actually had it though, before electronics and any other kind of high technology, she was pretty unstoppable. If it's the latter though, then yeah, you're fucked no matter what, in a way it's basically a far more powerful, but way less versatile, version of Lelouch's own Geass, except that it's maybe a bit more more harmless and likely not nearly as traumatic for the extreme cases, like, I can't imagine that it created any bloodstained Euphie's or the like given how casually she acted when she had it.

IMO this entire debate completely hinges on the fact if other people know about this or not, if CC's overides Lelouch's mind control, and just what CC's "love" means. If CC's Love means complete obedience at all times, whether near her or not, then I would agree that her's is stronger than Lelouch's, since theirs is basically the same but CC has an area of affect one while Lelouch must look at that opponent in the eyes and command them. However, if CC's love is not complete obedience, then that would be bad, especially if those who love CC end up fighting eachother for CC's love. It would basically completely destroy any large scale operations, since any large force would end up in civil war. Also, this means that CC's mind control would not be as precise as Lelouch's. If Lelouch commands a very specific thing, that thing will happen. Their entire mind would be focused on doing that 1 specific task, no outside thoughts will intrude, but CC's subjects wont have that same level of dedication to that task, simply because the orders arent absolute. If Lelouch asked someone to mark an x at precisely 6:00pm, no matter what that x will be down at 6:00pm. However, if CC did the same thing, I could imagine a scenario that the subjects will have those commands wane off, where at first they will be precise at 6:00pm, but it will slowly go to 6:01pm and etc. While this may not seem that big of deal, this would mean that if both were to start lets say an army, Lelouch's would probaly work at slightly higher efficiency. We would have 0 idea if CC's geass can overide Lelouch's and vice versa. No point to argue either point since there would be 0 evidence for any case. Now the most important part, if other people know how Lelouch's and CC's geass worked. If they did know eachother's geass, then lelouch would be at a slight advantage as the previously stated slightly higher efficiency, therefore more capable of more intricate plans that could destroy CC. However if neither knew, then CC would have a significant advantage, since the only win condition she would need is to get close to Lelouch, since her powers work faster than his. Overall, I would say that Lelouch's geass is probaly slightly better as in better potential and better control etc, but in a scenario where neither knew about the other's geass, CC would be better purely due her activation conditions being much simpler. ofc, Orange destroys both of them, purely due how their geass works

Geass cancelling may count as a Geass in some cases but the only problem with it is that the canceller can lock certain users in a stalemate. Ex: Charles and C.C. Other than that though, I wouldn't count it as a true Geass ability because it can only be used on people who have been affected by a Geass. The Geass Canceller can only remove the effects of Geass on the user and people affected by the Geass and is obsolete against people who are not affected by a Geass. Even in Lelouch of the Resurrection show that pretty much all Geass abilities except for Jeremiah's Geass Canceller allow the user to either manipulate their opponent or give them a slight advantage over another person regardless of them having a Geass or not.

For example, would Bismark be able to beat Jeremiah, In a Nightmare Battle or Man to Man combat? Since Bismark basically cannot use his Geass, would his skill in Battle be enough to take down Jeremiah? Or something else to theorize on, would Jeremiah's Geass Cancelor even work in Bismark, whose Geass only affects him, because it gives him forsight. Does he lose the forsight? Or because it doesn't affect anyone outside of him, does the Geass Cancelor not work? The entire list changes if Jeremiah is included. Because in a "Highlander" "there can be only one" kind of fight for supremacy, the list basically becomes who is or isnt affected by Jeremiah's Geass Cancelor. Those who are affected automatically lose to Jeremiah unless they could physically outmatch him. And for Those who arent affected by Jeremiah's Geass, the question still remains, can they beat him physically?

Does Jeremiah's Geass force her back into her original body? Or destroy her ability to move to another person? It seems like at the end of the series, Jeremiah may have restored Anya's memories with his Geass. Or helped her in some way since he thought to try his Geass Cancelor on her in the first place. I think you're severely underestimating Marianne. Once you have control of a body, you are fully capable of incapacitating it in ways that still allow you to transfer your consciousness another time. Handcuffing the body is enough, but you could do more. The only issue with this win condition is that you ultimately have to give back control of their body, putting you at risk of a counterattack.

I'd say lelouch's geass has more advantages compared to charles's geass other than potentially being harder to break. like charles', lelouch's geass can also be used to rewrite memories. like how he did with shirley. however charles' geass can't do everything that lelouch's can. if charles rewrites someone's memories to trick them into thinking they are suicidal for example. it does not guarantee that his subject will commit suicide. however if lelouch says: die, his subject will surely die. and rolo's geass is definitly s tier. first of all while looking visually slow, it's definitly much faster than most verbal commands. and to be honest even if it was slow it would've been insignificant compared to the actual utility of the geass. if used correctly, he can pottentially kill any geass user without a single problem. his enemies won't even see him comming. this can only be said for 2 other geass users. charles and lelouch. also c.c's geass is to speculative. it causes the people around her to love her. loving someone doesn't mean being an slave to someone. since we have already seen some geass users' geass being broken. what happens if someone has reasons to hate c.c? will that balance out her geass and allow the individual to be able to hurt her? or more importantly, how does it work? is it a hypnosis thing like lelouch's power or is it emotional manipulation? if the latter, can a prepared and informed geass user take some drugs to diminish their emotions and then confront c.c? since we haven't seen enough and don't know much about her geass we can't really tell.

I'm disappointed with the lack of creativity in representing Marianne's ability. There's many combat ways she can use the ability to win. 1) Setting a timed explosive charge near her body and switching places with an enemy out of blast range. 2) Stabbing herself in a vital organ before switching with her enemy. 2) Switching bodies with someone her enemy loves so that she gets to attack her enemy while risking minimal damage. 3) She can swap bodies with enemies who are much stronger than her current body so she gets the advantage physically. 4) She doesn't have to worry about taking damage because she can just pick a new body later. These are just a few off the top of my head. But there's a dozen more I could name off. ***Btw, she can even keep her original body in tact by binding it before switching with someone expendable or switching with someone vegetative. It's one of the ultimate combat abilities.

Marianne's Geass could, theoretically, be used offensively, but only useful in a 1V1. She could take control of her opponent, casually walk over to her unconscious? Body, pick up the knife she obviously had on her, look her empty body in the eyes, and [Redacted], and with the knife now coated in her enemies blood, return to her body. And this si just assuming it's a direct transfer, and doesn't place a copy into the host. If it just creates a copy, the original can just kill the possessed enemy.

C.C has the naturally strongest of Geass abilities, with that said a lot of these battles would come down to how the battle started. If they enter battle with no intel and not knowing who the opponent is (say on a street corner) Mao would likely win. Someone who could put aside their love for C.C in order to achieve their objective or is twisted in their obsession for her could still kill her. With that said Lelouche only brakes Charles Geass with the help of C.C with Nanaley being the only one to free herself of it on her own. Lelouche Geass also gets resisted a few times, Yuffie, Nanaley both show some capacity to fight against it and Suzuku is able to overcome it and turn it into a weapon. That said of the two Leleouche over Charles as his Geass continues to work even if it can be overcome. That said my top 3 are Rollo, C.C and Mao. Both are flexible enough, 2 don’t require eye contact and C.C has near instant application. Lelouche and Charles require verbal commands in addition to eye contact and both avoid encounters with other Geass users, neither want to look at each other (Suzuki covers Lelouches eye to protect Charles). Their strength comes from pre planning, foreknowledge and isn’t suited to a strait on battle with no intel.

Charles might be overestimated, he has to implant false memories, which means he has to come up with them by himself, which means they are limited by his own imagination and knowledge of that persons history creates a huge margin of error if not done correctly. This will also take more time to do, which is fine in one on one, but makes the power more utility based (remember he had to get suzaku to restrain lelouch and cover lelouches own geass eye in order to use it) I think that is the reason why his can be broken more easily, when the brain cant reconcile the false memories with the real ones, or if the memory is shaky an external stimulus (kissing C.C or the stress of confonting big brother) can cause the break
