I think you have to have another look at the manual. Double tab the trigger button to get out of selfie mode.

I've bought G6 three weeks ago, and faced the same problem (selfie mode to turn again in normal mode. And the app problem). And after lots of search and overnight work I discover it out. For the selfie mode I've tried to press home button three times to selfie mode, to return back you can try the back button - under tile button- two times, the camera will return to normal mode again ✌️ For the app not working (it will be v3.0 or higher), try to search for v2, it will like charm (tested). Nice video bro and really I'd like to see more for you. Good luck

Great review! The G6 really seems like a solid gimbal, but I don't think it's worth upgrading if you already have a G5. Sure, the new buttons and the screen are very useful, but when it comes to video stabilization I think the G5 is almost on the same level.

I saw this and turned off after you trashed the gimbal for not resetting after selfie mode... I then saw another review which solved your issue by double clicking the trigger to reset from selfie mode... also the dual connectivity of bluetooth phone and wifi GoPro 6 plus the voice activation on/off this gimbal + GoPro 6 sounds like the best combination... I just hope the firmware is better now than the one you received...

This is a good choice for a GoPro gimball that is inexpensive. Battery life is great and the extension pole is a must have. The gimbal does provide excellent stabilization for the GoPro.

Do I need it? Probably not. Do I want it? HELL YEAH! I've got the 3-way camera mount and although the camera's stabilisation is really good, the gimbal will give me some next level videos. Thinking about it, I've got a couple of trips coming up so I need it!

Every app screenshot I see of FeiyuTech is this dark background with captioned buttons which is great. The one I have is white with no captions or descriptions to what the buttons do...

*8:10 is the most important part. To connect the gimbal to control the GoPro, you need to use the app the link the two and it's not an automatic thing which sucks and why the Karma is looking good to me. For example you can't turn on the GoPro on if it's mounted in the gimbal. You have to use the remote, app, or get a Hero 6 or 7 with voice control that can turn it on.

I agree, that background noise is annoying, especially at 5:24. Have you had this problem during other tests? I bought an adapter plate with my Smooth 3 and work well along with my smart phone too.

Awesome. Yeah the background noise is something that all gimbals of this size usually has. Its partly made worse by where the microphone is on the gopro

Great review of both the pros and cons. GoPro seems to have lost much of its innovative edge. I bought an Osmo 2 based on your review and recommendation and find myself reaching for that and my phone camera far more frequently than digging out my GoPro. Keep up the good work!

Hey Jeven! Above all thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences. I am NOT a filmmaker nor a photographer however i have been intrigue by it so to the story short I have a Canon 70D and about a month ago a bought me a GoPro 6, plus thanks to you I also got the the Feiyu G6 Gimbal. I decided to take my iPhone 8 Plus and my GoPro only to my latest trip tp Punta Cana in Santo Domingo (amazing). Prior to my trip I discovered the Quick App and GoPro Studio for GoPro and use it, I thought it did a good job, however i was not VLOGing just showing bits and pieces of the trip. I am 55 years old not up to par with all the new technology, but pondering into the field as hobby, any suggestions? Thank you!

Did you see my video on how to vlog? Thats a great place to start. As for editing I always suggest using FCPX. Watch a tutorial series like the ones on rippletraining.com and you'll learn the software in a weekend.

I don't know if you've bought yours yet but I just bought mine and I'm sending it back to Amazon. After I updated the firmware it's now bricked. The battery indicator never worked from the start, so I would be a little cautious on picking it up. Unfortunately it seems to be the best gimbal out there but it does have its issues still, in my opinion.

I’ve had the Karma Grip for almost two years and has been absolutely flawless, best stabilisation of any gimbal hands down. BUT and its a big BUT, the audio when using the Karma is woeful because you have to remove the side door to plug it into the Gimbal. I notice with the G6 it is merely a holder for the GoPro so you do not have to plug it into the Gimbal and hence therefore the audio in your video with the G6 was awesome. But it did sound like there were a lot of other frustrating flaws with it that you pointed out. I guess the question is given GoPro refuse to fix the audio issue of the Karma, would this be worth having as a second gimbal to use only when audio will also be required??

Is the GoPro less likely to clash with the gimbal with the revised geometry. I hate that you can hit the GoPro screen with the G5? I’ve not seen anyone comment on that but it looks less likely on the G6.

Nice looking gimbal but the audio from the gimbal motors are horrible. I saw another channel video that overcame most of the motor noise by putting the audio to "wind" instead of auto or stereo and it seemed to help a bunch. GoPro didn't really think about their microphone placements on the Hero 5 & 6. Cheers

@3:30, talking about camera powering and charging. This is a key feature for me. The G5 only does about 30mins when charging and powering Hero 5, 90mins when only powering it. How much does the G6 do with Hero5/6 in your test?

It doesn't feel unbalanced at all. Really easy to pickup and use. You can use it with our without the stabilization on the gopro. Just test both and see what you like better

I´ve bought karma few weeks ago. I think is doing well. I made a movie on my channel ILRanieri - DPFN, Valle del Elqui, most of footage and B-roll was taken by karma. The one bad thing is when you are filming in side a car it´s start to tilt a little bit.

eric jensen I would use follow mode. Lock is tough to use following a skier. Experiment with both. You might have settings where one works better than the other. Personally I always use follow mode when I snowboard

I forgot< i ran into the same issues with connectivity issues among the phone, gimbal and the GoPro as you stated. By looking into it there is a software update but I have read somewhere of people creating a Gimbal “Brick” after the installation, thus I am afraid to do it. Do you have any comments on this matter?

Thanks for the video and I do have a question. After watching your video I bought the Feiyu G6 and I noticed there was a problem. If I swing my right hand that hold the G6 anti-clockwise to around the 3-4 o'clock position, the motor started to rattle non-stop. But once I passed the 3 o'clock position, the rattle stopped. It didn't happen when I swing to the 8-9 o'clock position. Is this normal? Anyway I found it to be unusable. Thanks again for any info.

Hi, its very easy to solve. Just do the calibration. Its all in manual.. you click mode buton five times, place in on flat surface and wait for "success" on screen. Please be sure that camera is not tilting sideways after turning gimbal off.

Yeah both seem to connected easier now. Sometimes it happens right away and if not you just need to shut everything off and start over and it will start working

Hi Jeven, I bougth a G6 and I've notice an annoying thing... if I rotate the gimbal backwards as if I wanted to see the ceiling (in every shooting mode) , it makes a small movement by turning the gopro to the right by a few degrees. If I set for example the gimbal in "follow mode" and I walk straight forward, if I want to shoot the sky and I rotate gently the gimbal backwards, I have this annoying movement of the camera... Can you try it for me please? thank you!
