This time with audio :) Apologies for the faux pas. This is a great gimbal and big improvement over its predecessor the G5. The FeiyuTech G6 has now more room for the camera, and since one can balance the gimbal, we can attach the external microphone adapter for better audio. I Love it!

This G6 gimbal is a big upgrade gimbal. Especially I like its capability of mounting various camera models.

It is worth noting that u can only really get the FULL benefit of this gimbal by using it with either a Go Pro Hero or Sony RXO action camera! Other makes won’t be that good. I made that mistake, by using it with my Akaso V50 pro action cam, which does fit the gimbal however, it will not connect up to the actual gimbal as it doesn’t recognise the make! ( maybe, a remedy in future versions?) so if your looking to buy this gimbal to use with your action camera....do your research first! I have since bought a Go pro Hero 7 Black and it works great in this setup!

I've just bought this G6 gimbal and I'm really happy with it. Just one thing to note however, the supplied Feiyu Tech 26650 battery is 65mm long at it fits into the gimbal exactly. I bought an XTAR battery as a backup, thinking all 26650 batteries would have the same dimensions but it is about 3mm longer and will not fit. The end cap of the battery compartment has a fixed contact, not spring loaded so there is no leeway at all for a longer battery. I have now done some further checks and it does seem that most 26650 batteries are longer than 65mm.

hi, your setup for the camera and gimbal using wifi not? and is gopro camera internal battery inserted or just rely to gimbal charging port to bootup the gopro and recording? what resolution you shooting.

I discovered that if internal battery inserted you can shoot any resolution and fps you wanted to with wifi connected to gimbal and using gimbal buttons. However if without gopro battery inserted, things work differently. When wifi connected to gimbal, maximum resolution and fps it can goes is only upto 2.7k 25 fps (PAL) with hypersmooth on. if you want higher fps and resolution you need to disable hypersmooth otherwise camera will crash. To overcome this, disable the wifi connected to gimbal, by then you can shoot at any resolution and fps you want without gopro battery inserted and you will need to shoot manually by pressing shutter button on gopro itself.

I'm not sure I understood your comment on the motor noise. Did you shoot with an external microphone or not? I'm not planning on using one so I'm looking for a gimbal to use with my Gopro 5 black that won't disturb and make motor noise. Would you recommend this?

Hi, I'm also using Feiyu G6 and a GoPro Hero 7 Black. My GP7 ALWAYS freezes when I connect the G6 to it. I notice the GP7 UI operation crawls and if I click the G6 Remote to record, the GP7 will start to record then immediately blacks out. I have to pull out the battery to restart the GP7. It works fine when I disable the GP7 Wifi so that the G6 is not connected.

Totally Awesome Review !! Couple ? if you don't mind... @ 10.16 and 10.38 there is up/down walking movement yet at 10.18 that movement isn't there and also at 10.50. What did you do to eliminate the up/down movement? Also, can this gimbal be used with an iPhone 7 by chance?

What's a good camera setup with or without gimbal for a mountain bike rider, jogger etc? I want the best bang for the buck, I could care less about showing off to peers or to the world. I just want decent stability so that I can catch the action on the trails, a good audio and of course long battery life wihtout breaking the bank. An old gopro + a gimbal or a gorpo 7 with just hypersmooth to kill the need for a gimbal?

Hey Reha, Your test shot still looks wobbly with UP-DOWN shake. Shouldn't this gimbal remove that shake ? What is the use of this gimbal if I still have to have such a bouncing footage.

Hi Reha, at 06:51 you show how the G5 couldn't achieve a 360 degree manoeuver because of the gimbal hitting the camera, when i try that same move with my G6 i can feel the motors judder at the bottom of the manoeuver while the gopro twitches then my gopro turns itself over so it's upside down. Is my G6 faulty? Could you do a video of the extremes that the G6 can achieve please?

That's normal that the motors judder before the camera goes upside-down. Nothing wrong with that.

Where do you recommend getting additional battery for the gimbal. I got a IMR 26650 and it doesn't allow me to fully close this gimbal as the battery it comes with is an INR26650 and is slightly smaller. Thanks for the help

There will always a level of gimbal noise picked up. You will have to record audio separately and sync in post.

Funny, your title says Hero 7 yet you are testing with a HERO 5? This does not work with the HERO 7. I would not waste your time trying to use this on the HERO 7. Also forget about using audio when any GoPro is on the G6 as it is unusable so you will need an external audio source or use it for B-Roll only!

I just returned mine to Amazon today. I had the same exact issue when I went to charge it the first time. The manual said it takes 6 hours to charge so I just plugged it in and left it for 6 hours and then I turned it on. It worked fine the first time, then I updated the firmware and now it's bricked and doesn't work. I strongly recommend you search videos for the Feiyu Tech G6 Problems and you'll see what I'm talking about.
