Amazing idea with the grilled red onions! I am trying that this weekend without fail! If I may offer a tip....When they come off the grill, put them on the board with the colder side down. Let it rest 2-4 minutes so both sides of the bread stay crispy. Putting the hot side of the bread on the cutting board creates steam, softening all the hard work!

So, i attemted to make this and heres what i used. 1. Diamond rolls, basically bread rolls but Diamond shaped because i couldn't find normal rolls. 2. Off the bone ham, we didnt have black forest at the time. 3. Swiss cheese, we had that 4. Squeeze butter and cooking butter 5. Who needs onions of fancy ham or normal rolls or good butter or dijon? Not me! Preparation:Get a pan, and cut a thin wedge of cooking butter. Turn the oven a bit higher than low, and place the butter on, move it around evenly with a spatula, or use pam.Get your roll and cut it in half, then slather both insides with squeeze butter. Next get your ham and tear it up, then throw it on the roll. Then cheese, cut it how you'd like and place it on the ham. Close the sandwitch and coat the bottom in butter, make sure to get the butter all over your hands, too. Then, placing the sandwitch on the already greased pan, making sure to drop it unevenly and burn your hand while trying to get the ham evenly hanging out of both sides. Now, coat the top with squeeze butter and flip it again, unevenly. Once kinda golden-ish, plop it onto a plate and eat. Rating:4.7 stars, because of the cold spots. Description:Messy, but delicious. And now my hands smell like butter. Yay!
