I’ve been diligently working, saving and contributing towards financial freedom and early retirement, but the economy so far since the pandemic has eaten away most of my portfolio, what I want to know is this: Do I keep contributing to my portfolio in these unstable markets or do I look into alternative sectors.
@emiliabucks336 ай бұрын
Just try to diversify your portfolio to other market sectors, that way your investment is balanced and you don’t get to make so much losses.

Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

Hey, it depends on what you need from each account. For example, I use SoFi for their HYSA, Capital One for both a HYSA and checking account, and Discover’s checking account for my rental properties. So I suggest comparing different banks and accounts to see which ones meet your needs best.
@rachelbromberg6 ай бұрын
hey! i was interested in SoFi and can deposit $5k upon opening. does that mean i could still get the sign on cash bonus or do i need to have a paycheck deposited in? i would be transferring from my current bank to open this account - this was my favorite besides what i just learned in this video and want to open it if i qualify for the sign on cash bonus
@DayanaPlays6 ай бұрын
Hey Rachel, to get the signup bonus, you need to set up direct deposit. Here’s how it works: - Direct deposits between $1,000.00 and $4,999.99 will earn you a $50 bonus. - Direct deposits of $5,000.00 or more will earn you a $300 bonus. Qualifying direct deposits include payments from your employer, payroll, or benefits provider via ACH deposit. Deposits that do not qualify include check deposits, P2P transfers like PayPal or Venmo, merchant transactions from services like Stripe or Square, and bank ACH transfers that are not from employers. You can learn more about the requirements here: support.sofi.com/hc/en-us/articles/6502391083789--300-Direct-Deposit-Welcome-Offer Hope that helps! 💜

@DayanaPlays6 ай бұрын
Hey, so when you signup for the SoFi bank account you'll get both a checking and savings account. You don't have to use the checking side if you don't want to but it'll be there if you need it.
@cannotbeshaken78895 ай бұрын
What I found when looking up SoFi is, In order to get the 4.60% at SoFi, you have to sign up for direct deposit. That monthly direct deposit can be any amount. Even as little as one dollar if you want. And if you don't sign up for direct deposit, then you have to deposit at least 5k every 30 days, on your own.

What if you just want to have a savings and checking with SoFi. Would you still qualify for the 4.60% APY? Or is it required to have the direct deposit?
@DayanaPlays6 ай бұрын
To qualify for the higher rate of 4.60%, you need to set up a direct deposit of at least $1 per month. Another way to qualify is by receiving $5,000 in deposits per month (which is a bit much). For most people, a $1 monthly direct deposit is simpler.

Hey, thanks for sharing. I actually mentioned CIT's Platinum Savings account in another video. Their rates are great, but to get their higher rate of 5.00%, you need to keep a balance of $5,000 or more. If your balance is below $5,000, you only earn 0.25% APY. 🫠

Hey credit card queen! I have followed you for a little while. Answer me a question please. Mt 22 yr old stepdaughter needs to apply for her first credit card. I have had her as an authorized user on 3 different cards of mine for about 4 months. Her first job is a county employee for about 3 months at $19 per hour. I was thinking Capital One as she has a checking and savings account with them already. My second choice would be Amex blue. She is authorized user on both of these. Suggestions?

Thanks so much for sharing, this is so helpful! ❤ Question about SoFi or any HYSA account that requires direct deposit for a high interest rate - In case of layoffs given how common they are in the current job market, if we're unable to land a job before unemployment payments run out, then would the interest rate of the HYSA automatically go down to the lower one since this would mean we would no longer have direct deposits? I really like SoFi (for the high rate, vaults feature, and sign-up bonus), except I'm concerned about this very real possibility. It seems very risky to go with SoFi when the high interest rate is dependent on secure employment in an unstable job market. For situations like this, would you recommend opting for a HYSA provider that doesn't have this direct deposit limitation? And if so, which alternatives would be the next best options? Thank you! 😊
@DayanaPlays6 ай бұрын
Hey, I’m glad you found the video helpful. Great question! Yes, if your direct deposits stop, your interest rate will drop to the lower rate. SoFi’s minimum direct deposit to qualify for their higher rate is only $1, but I understand that losing a job means no deposits. 😅 If you’re worried about this, I recommend looking into other high-yield savings accounts. Some of my favorites are Capital One 360 Savings, Wealthfront Cash Account, and Discover’s Savings Account. However, keep in mind that not all of them offer signup bonuses or features like “vaults.” Hope that helps! 💜
