This series is what hopefully brings some of the old Tasty back - that is, recipes nice and simple, the very reason why I subscribed, not the challenge videos, giant stuff, can this guy to that etc. I understand that the content production is driven by demand and the almighty algorithm, but I would love more of the old Tasty back, and I highly appreciate seeing 101 back (one of my favorites)!

I used to eat omelets all the time at college. One cook made French style and the other made it American style. One day the French styled cook told me, "American omelets aren't omelets. That's just an egg taco."

My favor is an egg Taco I don't know what it is but I don't like uncooked egg in my egg no matter how good they make it sound velvety and smooth. I'm all vegetable and cheese in a taco of egg.

if you're a beginner making french omelettes it's actually way easier to cook on low to low-medium heat. add your butter and when you see it foaming but not sizzling add the eggs. stir the eggs continuously for a few minutes to create a very fine, custardy consistency. when it's cooked and thickened but still very moist you can add cold butter to stop the cooking and then allow the bottom to set slightly before rolling. there should be no browning on the outside. with this way you have more time to work the eggs, using high heat makes the process faster but you have to be very quick and aggressive to create a small curd quickly.

Great channel! I am a fridge cleaner guy so use whatever combination makes sense with what I have. My last omelet was with lightly sautéed Portabella mushrooms, arugula and cheddar cheese. One technique I do is put all the filling on one half of the eggs and make sure the grated cheddar spills over on the edge of the pan. This gives a nice crisp cheese edge when you plate it. I usually add fresh cracked pepper and high-quality course pinch salt after plating. I also like oat milk instead of water when I have it. It makes the eggs SO much fluffier than water or milk.

My favourite has to be my tweaked version of the Spanish omelette. It has a rich base of potatoes and onions and smothered with cheddar, parmesan and mozzarella 😋
@cookiedxstinyd61073 жыл бұрын
mine would be a combo of all Basically there is a filling inside the omelet, it’s like a crape cake, but a square and folded, inside would have like mushrooms, onions, spring onions, maybe sometimes cheese. And the outside looks exactly like tamayogaki(sorry if I wrote it wrong) I usually leave the inside of the first lair wet and let it cook slower so it kinda gets a bit of goo between lairs and have some savour elements inside it as well, I can’t describe the taste the only word I can say is “tasty” but here’s my try on disbribing it! The egg flakes like the tomoyogaki and it’s a little sweet, but savory. Inside has some pockets of mushrooms, onions, which make it lovely and not just have a smooth texture, texture is key for me. The egg just tastes a little sweeter. Overall it is a good dish and I really recommend it! Ingredients : 4 large eggs 2 teaspoons sugar 1 pinch kosher salt 1 teaspoon light soy sauce, plus more for serving 1 teaspoon mirin, or sake ¼ cup bonito dashi stock (60 mL) canola oil, for cooking ¼ cup of onion (35 g), diced or thinly sliced ¼ cup of mushroom (35 g), diced How to cook: 1. Make the filling 2. Use some butter to cook the mushroom and onions. Cook them until they sweat or look golden brown (depending on what you want it to taste) 3. Add some salt and pepper to season. 4. After the filling is done, you prepare the egg 5. Do exactly what the video tells you to do for the Japanese omelet :> 6. After making the egg (wet) you pour it into the Japanese omelet pan thingy. 7. Once the inside look wet but the outside (side facing the pan) is completely cooked, you add in some of the filling. 8. Roll the egg (it’s hard but try your best!) 9. Repeat the steps before until you used all your filling and egg. (Make sure the final lair has no filling! So it looks smooth) 10. Cut it in quarters to enjoy!

Add some mozzarella cheese and let it melt and flip half the egg to make a semi-circle. Eat.

I make my eggs by beating them with a mixer until the eggs are a pale yellow and the mix leaves ribbons when lifted. Pour into a well buttered pan, cover with a lid. When you see the edges lifting a bit, add your desired fillings (my favourite is olives, cheese and sundried tomatoes) The mix should be slightly foamy, i often check if it's done by poking the top with the edge of my spatula. If the mix clings to the spatula, leaving a little foamy edge, then the omelette is done. Fold in half, let it warm through for a minute and it's done. Enjoy!
