The BEST Homemade Shower Cleaner

I made homemade shower cleaner and loved it!!! It really took off the hard water stains without scrubbing. I will definitely continue using it. I hope you try it also.
I got the recipe on Pinterest. it is pinned on my board named For The Home.

I changed the recipe a little
1 cup Dawn dishwashing liquid
1 1/2 to 2 cups Distilled White Vinegar
20 to 25 drops essential oils (optional)
put in a clean, empty spray bottle and mix gently

This absolutely works better than any product you may find at the store. I use one cup of the super strength Dawn mixed with two cups of vinegar and about a fourth of a cup of rubbing alcohol. It cleans everything in my bathroom and kitchen. I clean my shower by spraying it with the solution about 15 minutes before I’m going to shower. Then , I hop in , wipe the shower walls and door with a sponge and give it a light rinse. Next I take my shower, rinse down everything thoroughly, squeegee very surface . Now my shower is clean and so am I in one quick and easy operation. Win, win.

We've had our walk-in shower just a few months now. It has taken some thinking about it and some not-best approaches to learn exactly as you've laid out....I used to have a shower.......now I "take a spa" and plan the cleaning efforts (with the right solution) along with my own hygiene. I found the Videla (Cdn)/O-Cedar (US) shower mop (hex-shape sponge) is the perfect corner-reacher on walls and the bits between the sliding glass doors.

I use this (no rubbing alcohol) I don’t let it “sit” for very long, just use a scrubby then rinse off. I squeegee then towel dry. I certainly would recommend opening as many windows as possible as it’s very strong!

If I heard you correctly, the original recipe was 1 third Dawn to 2 thirds vinegar. That would be a 1 to 2 ratio of Dawn to vinegar using any container. So your measuring cup recipe of 1 cup Dawn to 1 and a half cups vinegar would be short on the vinegar by half a cup. It should be 1 Cup Dawn to 2 Cups vinegar, if you want that 1:2 ratio. I do appreciate your video and will try this mixture. Thanks. (We have very hard water.)

I suggest you heat the vinegar and then add the Dawn. Not sure why but it seems to work even better.

I spray my shower, let it sit and then do the rub down just before turning on the shower to bath. At the I squeegee and presto I’m ready and the shower is clean. Not ideal for a video but an efficient life hack

After you've finished cleaning the glass spray it with dish washer rinse aid then the water just runs off every time leaving the glass sparkling clean .

Every time I make this mixture, it turns into a gel when I start to spray it and it won't spray on the shower no matter how I turn the nozzle...it always comes out in a stream. And I don't get good coverage on the shower walls. What am I doing wrong?

You have to heat up the vinegar and dawn in the microwave for two minutes, just to molecularly bind the two liquids. Just put it in glass and don’t boil

It got all wet. Lol. I just put some towels down. And since the floor was wet already I took advantage and scrubbed the floors really well. This wouldn’t be good for carpet though.

@@loveandfuzzydusters dawn dark blue is the trick. It has the highest concentration of sodium laureleth sulfate and that is what cuts through the soap scum and hard water stains. The other dawn colors will not work as well. Good day 🤗

The dawn platinum 4X power is very powerful. If I don't wear gloves when I use it I get skin and nails issues. PS, the best gloves I have found is the Rite aid store brand, they hold up very well for a long time. Good day 💐🤗💐

The lemon oil is an essential oil. I was just using it to make the vinegar smell better. But it didn’t. The vinegar smell was still stronger. Lol.

😂😂😂. It is pretty smelly. I have a small window in the shower so I open it and I turn on the vent. That seems to help. I try to do it early in the day so the smell is usually gone by the evening.
