Yeah, I left the game tag empty due to Irisu Syndrome not being listed. It put DDLC for some reason, though. My guess is that mentioning it in the description made KZbin default to it.

Its criminal how little this game gets recognized for paving the way for metatextual horror games. Pratically a Yume Nikki of its genre in it's own right.

I'm surprised to see this pop up again! I only recently discovered Irisu Syndrome through a "top freeware horror games" vid, and holy shit, it's a crime just how underrated and relatively unknown this was and continues to be. I'll respect your wishes in keeping this and the comment section relatively spoiler free, and just say: That one tense moment that justifies why the game has that odd aspect ratio/windowed mode still haunts me. I've never been so /petrified/ by a horror anime game, much less one without any screamers and/or bullshit scare tactics-- it was just pure, unadulterated dread, and I felt like I was in danger just by witnessing it.

I know what you mean! I stumbled across Irisu Syndrome only due to a recommendation for a piano cover of its OST. It's hugely underrated, and I wanted to do what I could to spread the word about it. That moment you're talking about definitely put me on edge. It's some seriously clever game design on par with DDLC's late-game 4th wall breaks.

I wish this game gain more spotlight because I feel like there is more than what it already has offer. This game has been an interest of mine ever since I discover this game through some of the OST songs. It's sinister, haunting, mysterious, and disturbing. I just want to know more.

It left a big impact on me! The storytelling aspects and the way documents are unlocked were incorporated into a Hotline Miami 2 campaign I made, "Love and Forgetting." I wanted its legacy to carry on in some way.

I saw Risk Rim's video on this game and really. I hope we see this game have a resurgence. Its been 14 years since this game released and I hope the creator of this game is doing well! Seeing a small fanbase form around this game for the past 14 years feels odd. I do hope we see more fans celebrating this game!

This game was ahead of it's time ! The way a puzzlegame can work like a Visual novel . The way how you have to investigate the story in the files . The silent Horror ! None of that sudden shock jumpscare nonsense . And you will care about the cast !

It deserves the positive attention! I only came across it through a piano cover of one of its songs in my recommended videos. I’m really glad I found out, though! It’s such a fascinating game…

@@YossarianAssyrian It's another puzzle game that's closer to bejeweled than Irisu syndrome in terms of gameplay. It has endings tied to the score you get but I don't remember how the story actually advances. I don't think there's an english patch for the game sadly but I think there was a text doc with a translation floating around on the internet.

That means a lot! This is still one of my favorite videos that I’ve made, honestly. Everything came across how I had hoped it would, from the tone to the pacing.
