Casa Pepe would be a great first time hostel experience! But it's going to set very high expectations for any other hostel you stay at in the future! 😂 You can book it here: prf.hn/l/41l4lEa

It's definitely a good option! It's really big and clean and they've got private offices and phone booths as well. If I remember correctly, it's around 5 USD for a day pass.

Selina has some amazing hostels! I'd recommend their hostels in Isla Mujeres and Oaxaca City. But for CDMX I definitely have to give Casa Pepe the number 1 spot! Can't wait to go back.

Can you recommend hostels with private rooms? I’m not comfortable dorm style with tons of people.
@JanetteAllenTravel
@JanetteAllenTravel Жыл бұрын
Yeah! A lot of hostels have private rooms these days and some of them are just as nice as a hotel. Casa Pepe and Selina both have nice private rooms.
@JanetteAllenTravel
@JanetteAllenTravel Жыл бұрын
Casa Pepe is definitely the more social one though. You’ll meet people on the rooftop for sure. Selina is big and there’s always lots of people but the crowd tends to be more standoffish.

I guess Mexico City videos don't attract as much attention as Turkey. You should come to Turkey again :)
@JanetteAllenTravel
@JanetteAllenTravel 2 жыл бұрын
My Turkey videos also started out with a few hundred views :) They have been posted much longer. But I am not Turkish - I cannot live there forever. As much I loved Turkey, I cannot overstay my visa!

Did thy have Lockers n all 3 hostels ??
@JanetteAllenTravel
@JanetteAllenTravel 2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Any good hostel will have a locker for you to keep your personal items. Sometimes it is only big enough to put important things like your money and passports, but a lot of times you can fit a whole backpack!

@JanetteAllenTravel

Sometimes you can just show up and they may have availability, but I wouldn't count on it, especially if it's a popular spot like Casa Pepe. I always use Hostelworld to find and book my hostels: www.hostelworld.com/?source=affiliate-PHG-1100lkRG8&affiliate=PHG&ref_id=1101lwgazchC

Do you ever see kids at hostels?
@JanetteAllenTravel
@JanetteAllenTravel Жыл бұрын
Sometimes! Some hostels offer a family room, and others have age restrictions. Also, a lot of times the restaurant or bar area is open to the public, in which case you may see more families and children depending on the atmosphere. You would definitely want to just check with the hostel to see if it's suitable for children, because some hostels are more party backpacker spots and others aren't.
