The question isn't so much how well they work - when fresh they are all probably similar (except for the paint coating - which has completely different properties making it horrible for glass) - but how long do they LAST. I've found that RainX works very well - as long as you *don't* use your wipers. Those strip it from the glass pretty quickly. When the rain starts, give the wipers one pass to remove the street gunk, and then leave them off. Question is: do wipers wear these coatings off?

Thanks for the video mate, great stuff, always wanted to know the difference between dedicated windscreen coating and nano paint coating, the windscreen coat costs less.

We had read a few things but when the paint coating was working so well on plastics etc we assumed it would also work well on glass. Turns out quite as well as we thought.

How often were you having to apply rainx previously? Interested to know how long they will last!

Rain-x on this van will generally last 3-6 months before we find ourselve re-applying. The problem with being more accurate than that is we don't get much rain here and this van isn't used every day and left in the sun all the time, with dust and everything else settling on the screen which wouldnt be ideal for the rain-x. It might only get driven in the rain 3 or 5 times a year. The reason we tested on this is it seems to be the most harsh vehicle for any coating on the glass.

No it won’t. A normal car wax would like my work better on acrylic.

To be honest out of the glass ceramic coatings we have seen, even some of the expensive ones.... Yes rain-x seems to be better value.
