Most of the GTS series from R32 all the way up to R34 gets my vote because you still get the "Yo is that a skyline?" without spending a fortune, fairly reasonable as a daily, and still handles extremely well. It may not be overly phenomenal, but fun and relatively cheap alternative to the GTRs

Personally, I'd go for a GT86, the 2012 model is my favorite. It's like the AE86 had a child and was the loving dad throughout its whole life and lead it through all the right life choices. It's a car that doesn't need a lot of power to be fun just like it's predecessor, I'd limit my own dream GT86 to around 200-300hp and use it as a suitable daily. It's a car you can go to work and the track in. Modifications can be light or heavy such as a simple front lip to a full body kit. It's like the perfect car.

350 or 370z all the way, in really good condition. One of the best engine sounds fitting one of the best looking cars with some of the most tasteful cosmetic modifications available. I live in Japan and I currently drive a Subaru Impreza. The AWD system with 50/50 split and 5MT really handles the Japanese mountainroads well. The 2023 Suzuki Swift Sport 1.4 turbo 6MT a 140 hp and 173 ft/lbs in a car that weights just 940 kg might be the replacement. It's a 5 passenger subcompact that is underrated from the factory. They're more like 160 hp and 185 ft/ lbs. They come in at just under 2 million Yen so around $13,700 USD.

THEPAULFOOT best bang for your buck is 350z. Try to get an 07-08. But they still go for like 8-12k. All years are great. The 06’s do consume a lot of oil but they sound the best and rev high.

the best bang for buck jdm car with tons of aftermarket parts and great driving experience has to be the RSX type S. You can pick one up for around 4 to 5k and they are really fun and a cheaper front-wheel-drive version of an s2k. they are never mentioned in any videos because everyone focuses on the type r civic that has the same motor and transmission and costs a lot more! hidden jem that is very tunable and often overlooked in the jdm community.

BOOSTEG id stick with the DC2. Build the motor, stage 3 clutch, and decent turbo kit. Easily handle 400whp and still remain practical with the hatch and back seats.

In addition, if you wanted a 300ZXTT but couldn't find a clean one in the USA, don't worry. It looks like there are auctions in Japan selling the Z32 Fairlady TT and many of them are clean and with low miles. Most of them are over 25 years old. If you are willing to wait, the 1997 to 1999 Z32 Fairlady TT is worth buying. They had several improvements over the ones sold in the USA.

I had a crappy automatic tranny 1997 integra for a little while until the timing chain went at 220,000+ miles(odometer was broke and stopped at 217,000). That car was greatest snow vehicle I have ever driven. The only way the snow could stop it from doing whatever you wanted it to do was if the snow was literally higher than the floor of the car lol. Incredible little cars with monstrous handling. I would buy one again any day, especially a type r if I could ever get my hands on one.

An 87 RX-7, to me, was the and is the best RX-7 to drive. I rocked around in a non-turbo which I absolutely loved as I had to work for the performance I got out of it and it was a real driver's car. Clean examples still demand a premium price but they are worth it.

GTO ratio compare to all the cars he mentions in the video are like 10 to 1. GTO is even more rare than R32 in the US

@@poolearmor The Mitsubishi GTO is rare in the USA because anybody can buy a Mitsu 3000GT or Dodge Stealth. When a car can easily be bought in the USA, importing the same car doesn't always make sense. That in mind, I think some people will be importing a Z32 Fairlady TT if getting a good 300ZXTT is difficult.

The 300ZXTT went on sale when I was 5 and I instantly wanted one. I think there were 2 reasons: 1. I loved the name Nissan because I loved mom's 1985 Nissan Maxima 2. Turbo power sounded magical back then, so imagine how much more magical twin turbo sounded.

Yes. It did more or less carry Nissan after the R34 was finished and before the was available R35. I got a 370Z though because, newer, lighter and more powerful.

True. Reliability is there, power is there if you decide to tune, and for where I live (Upstate NY) driveability in the snow/bad weather is there. All good. And for a bargain price since the stigma around them drive buyers away

Never had a Speed 3 but currently have a Speed 6. Pretty decent handling for such a heavy car but the power delivery is where it shines.

I think if I had the chance to import an Evo, I would get something earlier than the 8. The Evo 6.5 TME might be what I would want. Those were very rare and expensive, so I wouldn't plan on it. Not that it matters... I intend to buy a US version Evo X with 5 speed manual. I might end up with the money to buy that one. I would add some items from the "X Final Edition" but otherwise leave it alone. I wonder how many people applied the JGTC Calsonic livery to their GT-R. That is what I think I would absolutely love.

@@jalderink The final edition did have some plaques and logos in various places, and I think the springs were different. If what I bought already had OEM bilstein struts, I would leave them alone. If they wore out, I have heard that it is $100 parts and labor to have Bilstein rebuild. If my car did not have OEM Bilstein struts, I'd buy some from a junkyard cheap, then pay the $100 parts and labor to Bilstein for rebuilding. I think the Final Edition and X MR had 2 piece rotors, but I don't consider that change worthwhile. I would actually have an advantage over the Final Edition. In 2015, Recaro seats were no longer an option because they couldn't pass new crash tests. As a result, I would keep my pre-2015 Recaros, or see what it takes to reupolster Evo X OEM Recaros that have many miles on them This is the joy of having a car that is mass produced enough to make parts easy to get, yet rare enough to be special. I sometimes make comparisons to the Nissan 300ZXTT.

1st and 2nd gen Diamond Star top version cars. 200hp, all wheel drive. But the stand out was the 2nd gen Eagle (Yes that use to be a car company) Talon TSI Turbo. It had a distinctive spoiler and Amber tail lights.
