Endurance = Structure + Movement + Breathing. Brilliantly simple. Simply brilliant.

I think the Turkish Get-Up is an excellent exercise for LIFE, for all the same reasons.

I just finished doing a set of 10 TGUs with a 24kg bell. I have benefitted so much from the TGU both in jiu-jitsu and in everyday life.

100%. Everytime I do get ups, I feel like I can check "all the boxes". It works, cardio, core, mobility, joint resilience, and strength in multiple planes and positions.

DO IT! I'm also 36 and have considered getting back into BJJ. I only took one course in college but I learned a lot of the fundamentals. Do EEEEEEEEEEEET 😈💪

Do it!! I started in my late 40’s and love it. And definitely do TGU if you’re going to 👍

I think many people tell themselves they'll do jiu-jitsu AFTER they lose weight. Don't fall for that trap. Next year would you rather have 1 year of BJJ & all the exercise that entails or not? I'm not saying you're overweight, I'm just speaking from personal experience.

I still need to attempt the TGU and the more I watch this channel, the more I think I should try to add in martial training. I love partner dancing and I'm sure all this would deliver improvement in that area too!

Real world usage ! What better way to train for... "Lifts are the absolute apex of a dance relationship, the tangible representation of all the work you and your partner have put into creating a trusting relationship on the dance floor."

I went the other way - from martial arts into partner dancing. They are indeed complementary, and different arts will provide unique benefits.

I just knew that this would be about the TGU. Ten sets: 10 x swings each hand 1 x TGU each side.

I'm curious what it is as well. A lot of techniques have multiple names so it can be hard to track down. I know a few moves that use the stand up motion from a TGU, but nothing specific.

Im doing a Turkish get up version with 20 kg Bulgarian bag overhead but with multiple press 1rst press on the ground position next to the half bridge position then to kneeling position the forth to standing position the reverse again kneeling, bridge, ground if i start getup-get down but im doing it and with get down -get up then you start the 1rst press from standing and doing the others in reverse its a bit confusing to explain by writing 😁 but im sure you get it ,you think it's a good exercise maybe better from the classic Tgu i saw some guy in Instagram doing it with a 40 kg bell i think i my max is with my 24

Japanese Jiu Jitsu didn't transform into "modern jiu jitsu", but still exists as its own sport. They're two almostly completely different disciplines.

No. TGU is not near enough. It is simply well below what is needed. The TGU is just simply a ”warm up” for real martiaml arts. The TGU does not protect the ribs nor arms nor spine like needed. Wishful thinking

So, what's the best workout then? If you're saying what you're saying about the tgu, I don't think you've ever done them.
@cucciafr68
@cucciafr68 12 күн бұрын
What do you mean by protect the ribs, arms and spine? The TGU makes you use all of these throughout the workout, strengthening those areas, building on your structure. And besides, I don't think they mean this as the end-all be-all workout. They are just pointing out it is one of the best workouts with a kettlebell you can do.

1. It is a great warm up, and i do it every workout. 2. This is one of those 'if i had to choose one exercise' videos and needs to be kept in that context. 3. Can you explain how it doesn't protect arms ribs and spine?
