Red Velvet Cosmic is just a masterpiece and I feel like the first time I listened to it I was shocked on how good it was and i feel like this was the perfect comeback for them this year and that’s why they are one of my favorite groups in the Kpop Industry rn and thier concepts when doing thier music videos are just flawless and cosmic is no different. 3:34,6:15,7:28,16:04,18:40,19:33, 22:45 these are all the songs I feel are the best in 2024 this year.

When IVE Switch first came out I considered Accendio the better of the two title tracks, likely because it was more in line with what I'd come to expect from IVE, but I struggle to understand why I ever thought that now. Heya is a full example of commitment to an unusual concept without veering into the reliable territory of lampshading with quirkiness. So much work is put in to ground the whole project within Korean mythology and overall I just think it hits harder as a song than Accendio.

i’m happy to see love for untouchable, i’ve seen a lot of people have negative opinions about it and i absolutely love the song and think it fits itzy so well. born to be as an album and era could’ve been so big for them but unfortunately a lot of things failed. it’s definitely at the fault of their management (really all jyp ggs suffer in this regard). having born to be, mr. vampire, and untouchable all as promoted songs really showcased a lot of itzy’s talent and potential despite lia being absent. all this to say, i’m glad that seemingly gold has done what i would’ve expected born to be to do. no matter what people have had to say online itzy has never lost their spark. i think 2025 looks very promising for itzy. nice video!

Very smart and clever editing choujimi. Usually when we make rankings people belive that song at no.3 is better than song no.2 in every aspect, when usually its just a matter of chance that we have ranked it like this. May be if this ranking was made a week after the ranking of 3 and 2 would have been flipped. This style one editing one song at its own rank with the glimpses of the song at the lower position is so telling of how much the previous song could be in the current songs position. I dont know how planned it is, but I love it so much.

I know you only pulled one song from each group or soloist so some of my picks may break the rule but here are my 4 songs I’ll add to make it the top 24 songs of 2024, even though my list would look almost completely different Time After Time-Wony (soloist and member of the GG We;Na): this song is genuinely devastating, the concept of waiting for someone who’s not in your life for any reason to comeback into it only for the realization that there not coming back for one reason or another. omg not this again. katseye isn't kpop in the purest definition, but it was formed with the kpop system, one of its main audiences in Korea, and one of their songs even has a Korean line (even though I know it is barely enough to acknowledge). katseye is honestly more integrated into the kpop industry rn than any other, so it would be fair to consider their music (for now) as such.
