My wife has never played a video game, and she loves BG3. Hands down the best co op game ever, she def steals while were doing stuff lol

Good coop games is always the ones with minimum narratives and packed with action from the first 3 minutes. I tried introducing Children of Morta and Death Road to Canada to my younger brother but he gets bored with all the loredump and item / skill management. Cuphead was too difficult and he doesn't like not winning SOMETHING after 30 minutes. I refunded those and get Castle Crashers and Earth Defense Force 55 instead, and our winter holiday has never been better.

Haha, I was about to recommend you Castle Crashers right before you mentioned it! You might also enjoy other games from the Behemoth: Alien Hominid, Battleblock Theater, Alien Hominid Invasion, Pit People. There's also a gamedev studio that makes similiar games but edgy, Ska Studios: Charlie Murder, Salt and Sanctuary (2D Dark Souls with local co-op), the Dishwasher. Dunno if you needed this, but if you'd want something similar to Castle Crashers in the future, you might enjoy these games.

Nice list! Not sure if you know but the binding of Isaac is getting a coop-online mode on pc. It's currently in beta. It just released this Friday. Might be worth looking into ✌️

I think it is not punishing at all. That's why i like it so much. A lot of roguelights are much harder. Ember knights mostly is very fair! Although i have to admit that crit on heal seems to dominate. Without this heal the game is much harder
