Many might already know and do this but, as an alternative with the same and much more functionality, you can connect your iPad or iPhone(depending on model) in the same way(USB) and use countless looper apps. No extra power needed and they have auto start, drum beats, multi tracks, auto stop and other neat features, as well as undo. Not poo booing on this pedal, as the traditional format is appealing in some instances and to some people. I've been doing this with my Mac and I-device for years now.

Hello, I'm having trouble understanding why they would extend compatibility to the rest of the Boss Katana products, particularly those with an FX loop. My looper (Ditto X4) is connected to my Katana Artist head FX loop, and I also need the Katana's USB connection to be dedicated solely to the amp (there's no way I'm using a USB hub). It's quite expensive for a basic looper, even if it's marketed as being adaptable. While it's good news for owners of amps without an FX loop, I don't get the excitement. Anyway, thanks for the video, always appreciated; Cheers from across the Channel. Chris

If you place any looper in the signal chain in front of any amp you‘ll have the problem that the sound of the recorded loop will change when you change the setting of the amp (or if you switch the channel of the amp). Or am I completely wrong? Nevertheless the idea of the ULooper is great. If you use such a practice amp this looper is very useful. It is a pity the the power supply is not provided through USB.

That’s correct. These are using the other (music/backing track) channel to play into the amp to allow you to change presets without altering the initial loop sound.
