Eloy played when he was 16 years old with Andre Matos, which was the former vocalist of Angra, another metal band from Brazil. Eloy comments that in some of his COVID-19 quarantine videos, were he tells his story since the beggining. There is a gap in Eloy's history here. Before he joins Sepultura, he was kindly invited to join Andre Matos' solo band and record the album "Time to be Free" with him. By that time, he became more popular amongst metal heads across the globe, traveled around the world with the band and got more notoriety with other drummers. After touring with Andre Matos is when Eloy became part of Sepultura family and became an even bigger drummer. I totally recommend people to listen to Time to be Free from Andre Matos so you will know a different Eloy

Eloy is such a beast of a drummer Ive seen him live with Sepultura and it was amazing I was a fan of Igor and couldnt believe how much better those songs sounded live with Eloy on the drums. Thats exceptional situation when you compare it with some other cases like Slayer after Lombardo etc.

Is very nice to see Eloy playing. And he plays every music like that was made by him, you can see his signature on the music. But when you see Eloy playing his own music, like "Means to an end" you can realy see why he is so fucking good. This guys is a monster and a genius.

Joining Sepultura at 20 would be a dream, my first concert at age 14 in 1994 Pantera/Sepultura Vulgar/Chaos AD Tour, then Sepultura again in 1996 and total of 6 Pantera shows all in Portland, OR USA

Wow small world, I was also at a lot of those metal shows in the 90's in the Portland area: Collesium, Rose Garden, Roseland Theaer, Fairgrounds, Pdx Meadows, & Salem Armory! I saw Pantera 4x, Metallica 3x, Megadeth 2x, Sepultura 2x, Soulfly 2x, Anthrax, Slayer, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Testament, Rob Zombie, Adema, Fear Factory and many more! Ahhh the good old days!🤘

Estepario! I was part of the drum recording (Jens, Ludvig I think was the drum tech and I) for Quadra and I can tell you Eloy is the first and only drummer I’ve seen making snow with the coated of the tom heads 😂 +1000 for also being an amazing person!

Eloy is the best metal drummer, and an amazing person! He recovered from a broken leg during the Sepultura tour very quick! There was some shows where he performed with only one leg!

The Drums are not the other side, dude, the drums is a thing that puts and keeps everything together! The Drums should be your best friend. If the Guitars, Basses and Drums are really in love, then everything is possible for everyone and all together! That is just my opinion, but I don´t do the Drums for a very long time and I played it as a teenager for fun, so you are the Pro, I´m just a listener who thinks that everything in a good Band should get together like the closest friends and family you can imagine!
