Hey Philip! Excellent video - and I also love the music which is nice and chilled out. :-) One question though.... at 3:15 you're showing the mic on a pole close to yourself and you're saying how good it sounds. I agree, it does sound clear... but then at 3:36, you cut back to the "normal" sounding audio of your video, which sounds ten times better? So I'm assuming, that you're using the audio from the mic on the pole and then editing that sound with software to get your "normal" sound? Does that make sense? I'm wondering what you're doing to that audio (recorded by your mic on a pole), to make it sound professional? Thanks!
@PhilipLemoine3 жыл бұрын
When I cut back to the "normal" audio at 3:36 im using the lav microphone which is clipped to my shirt. I actually dont use any audio editing software for my audio.

The audio of his voice is out of phase. That means that the waveform is reversed for 1 channel of the 2 channels from the stereo audio. If you play it on a mono device such as a lot of phones both channels will add up and cancel each other out. If you plug in earbuds or a headphone it will sound weird, but at least you can hear his voice.

@Cesko_Plny_Fialovejch_Zmrdu Жыл бұрын
Lav is best price/performance you can get for recording voice. Keep in mind tho it's onbody microphone, it won't do that good recording far away events like car racing, crowds or ambient sounds. It also records from any direction so you cant focus your recording on the point of interest and will have a lot of unwanted noises from whatever is close to the mic

Hi Philip, thank you so much for your video, really inspiring! do you think the Rode Videomic NTG or other shotgun mics will work best for Cocktail Making Demonstrations/Cooking Classes? My room is not treated and with a bit of echo. I won't move a lot but for example move a little my head up and down when I cut garnishes or mix/shake drinks. The other thing is that I would like to use the mic also for streaming classes so that means that in some occasions I won't rely on post production audio fixing. Or do you think a Lav mic would be more appropriate? At the moment I have a SmartLav+ but would love to up my audio game. Overall I really like to crisp audio from a Shotgun or pencil mic over a Lav, but open to hear your recommendation based on my specific situation. Thanks so much. Ciao from Italy ;)
