Has started using Irish moss or seaweed. We've been using it in the Caribbean for hundreds of years mainly in drinks.The advantage of Irish moss is that it is easy to make and cheap. You make a gel by cleaning,then soaking and blending.The advantage of Irish moss is that you can eat it as well, so I pop a spoon of in my smoothies and then pop it in my conditioners. My hair is low porosity and extremely protein sensitive. Aloe Vera and rice water are a big no nos. Only every 6-8 weeks for me.I have a patch of eczema and alopecia and has found it very soothing.U make a spray bottle with fenugreek and hibiscus spray and add a spoon if the gel. Might be worth investigating just for fun.

I discover this method out of desperation! I’m true 4c hi-po and the past 3 months it’s literally working! After spritzing with water. I had Scurl sitting in my stash and remembered it has glycerin and I know it’s properties. Followed this up with TGIN butter cream then grease! For ME, game changer!

@Miss Craze, I have exactly the same type of hair and tend to use the TGIN butter cream and hair grease, but wanted to know your steps after washing and deep conditioning. I currently apply my leave in then the TGIN butter cream then hair grease. When should I apply the KCCC or should I just remove it from the lineup and just use the KCCC? What order do you follow?
@misscraze4036
@misscraze4036 4 жыл бұрын
chocolate82467 hey gal! First I would say it’s a regimen you have to be consistent with. To this day, I’m still having great results with minimal dryness and breakage. I rediscovered Scurl but after watching Afope’s ingredients video, I learned my hair also like Behtromonium. I seek products with this and glycerin in it. With that said here’s what I’ve been doing and loving: Alternate washes with sulfate free and sulfate shampoos( I use Head n Shoulders or Shea Moisture Manukau). Deep condition WITH HEAT( I faithfully use Joico Moisture recovery treatment balm. Also don’t forget your true protein deep conditioner every 2-3 months). Rinse, while it’s wet/damp, I apply (Scurl, Aunt Jackie’s Quench, TGIN leave in conditioner OR Soutanicals Knot Sauce) read the ingredients, the keyword is what I mentioned earlier. I usually reach for Scurl. Throughly apply onto small sections of hair (allow it to absorb!) then on top apply your moisturizer of choice, I use TGIN butter cream, again allow it to absorb. Then whatever occlusive you want on top ie oil or grease then I flat twist that section and repeat. Since glycerin is a humectant, I allow the steam or water from the shower get on my hair daily. This “rehydrates” the hair. I tend to remoisturize (the steps LCO) my hair around 4days or wash 1-2 weeks depending on what my hair feels like.
@misscraze4036
@misscraze4036 4 жыл бұрын
chocolate82467 I learned about glycerin/humectants from a Dermatologist who explained the correct way to use it on skin for dry skin. I just applied that concept to my hair. In summary: she mentioned to apply humectants right after rinsing or washing the face while the skin is still wet to help retain that water/moisture from experiencing transdermal water loss. Then layer with moisturizer to aid/reinforce the humectant. Then apply an occlusive to lock in the moisture. Sorry that was a lot but it’s really about researching and understanding what each piece of information is telling you and how to apply that to cater to your needs. Lot of trial and error from me because I wasn’t grasping the concept and just following the masses.

@@misscraze4036 thank you so much for your reply. I tried making a few changes in my regimen and so far, so good, great timing since it was wash day for me. I shampooed, then deep conditioned with a protein and moisturizing deep conditioner. Afterwards, I used my TGIN green tea leave in, moisturized with my TGIN butter cream and then decided to try the KCCC as a sealant. Honestly, my hair has never felt better. I'll give it a little while longer but I feel that knowing what ingredients are best for my hair (instead of following just brand names) is making an improvement already. I refreshed my hair with aloe very juice and my hair still feels so soft and moisturized. So far, I'm very happy!

I feel like there are two types of hair those who need bananas yogurt eggs etc like my sister's hair and my type of hair who just needs oils and a bit of petroleum and a bit of water and do this daily and brush it.

This definitely sounds like a great video idea! Stay tuned 😆 The truth is there are a number of ingredients I like/think can be beneficial for natural hair that have been “cancelled” by the natural hair community. The key is knowing HOW to use these things properly so they work FOR you and not against you/your hair’s progress.

Hi. I just discovered your channel and because of the wonderful information you provide I now know that the way my hair was feeling and looking wasn't normal. My hair is protein sensitive and I have protein overload. Thanks to you I'm working on that. I already know aloe vera has too much protein for me. I was researching slippery elm and it is also high in amino acids. Are their any humectants that I can use that are protein free? Or are all humectants high in amino acids? Thank you in advance.

Hi fops, someone told me not to use aloe Vera on my hair ever, that when the weather is not humid the aloe Vera takes moisture from my hair to the atmosphere, how true is this? I'm in Nigeria.
@AfopeAtoyebi
@AfopeAtoyebi 4 жыл бұрын
Hey girl, this is interesting. I for one have never heard this or known this to be true. Certainly haven't seen any studies to back that up. Based on what I know, it seems HIGHLY unlikely. This may be the case with normal humectants like glycerin but I really don't believe this is the case with film forming humectants. Scientifically speaking, aloe is one of the most moisture retaining ingredients. Nonetheless it does have other components that may make it incompatible with certain hair types. So if you are skeptical about aloe, there are a whole bunch of other great film forming humectants that you can use.

That’s just the last step
