Fun fact, Espinas actually wins against Kushala. In it's lore it's territory got invaded by one and the Kushala was driven away. After all, a tanky spiky poisonous monster is the perfect counter for Kushala.

Espinas for sure has to win that turf war the point of the lore is he's an ED level monster. He is so tanky and has poison (two things kushala doesn't deal with well) that espinas have been known to drive kushala out of their natural habitats. I'm Sure that was just kushalas sucker punch before espinas puts the smack down on kush Also FYI special species are another mistranslation, if you see the original Japanese the term they use for variants is special species. So again the localizers dropped the ball. If you listen to the narrators voice she even says variants she never says special species. Someone Ran this stuff through Google translate and called it a day and now all the fans are going nuts over explore stuff that's not gonna be in the game.

for the free title update two, I think the bottom monster is definitely mizutsune. the background looks like the infernal springs which gives off a kamura vibe that mizu fits w. hopefully the actual soulseer mizu or maybe even the thunder one.

I guess Gore being in rise would make sense on a world building lvl as apex monster do have the same look as infected monsters from MH4. Maybe they might bring back Lao Shang lung seeing that they are willing to remake older maps

if my memory serves right, the pincher daimyo stab is a stonefist hermitaur move. The silhouette on the free title update 2 card above seems like a flying wyvern which can mean the metal raths but the face of it doesnt seem like a rath to me, it has a higher chance of being the espinas rare species since it flies more often as it seems to be flying in the clouds in what looks like the citadel so it might be it, the other monster on the bottom of it is obviously a mizitsune and its most likely a powered-up monster but it can also mean that mizitsune is getting a rare species or subspecies, mizu is also in the hot springs area (I forgot the name of the area since when I last played rise it was last year). Someone leaked shagaru magala but may still be false its somewhere in youtube and 4chan, it seems to be actual gameplay but Im sure leaking is illegal.

I want to fight Espinas so bad I miss malding over his egregious poison paralysis fire breath and nonstop back and forth charging I swear it's charging move is worse than diablos who's known for charging at ye I hope by powered-up monsters mean that they bring back the Hardcore system from frontier monsters get new attacks and slight change in appearance with just a single toggle when selecting a quest if so then me and HC Espinas gonna have a busy time when it's released

for example, Hardcore low rank Gravios got a 180 almost instant fire breath attack, and it's reach is so fucking wide and long Hardcore yian kut ku got longer beak, it's flame breath will spread out after touching the ground and can lay pitfall traps for hunters

The only thing that can ruin this hype is if Gunlance (my main weapon) sucks again. I really hope the demo proves me wrong and fixed the weapon overall and we can enjoy shelling like in World/Iceborne. I also hope the Espinas gear is amazing, the Gublance and Switch Axe looks good, I want to craft them, same for Seregios

From what I've heard in Frontier, Espinas' signature skill is that it takes the element from your weapon and translates that into raw damage. It was insane for Poison builds so who knows, he is Frontier's Flagship.
