This is by far the best run down of the bike's from this EICMA. I love the naked/Street fighter look, but to be honest that new Ducati hypermotard 698 tickles my fancy. Being an ex motocross rider this bike is right up my street. Great video.......thanks 👍 😊

Yeah, I get so frustrated with that as well. I live in the SW US and the only bikes I ever see are sport bikes (mostly Japanese) and Harley's, more Harley's, and even more black, incredibly loud Harley's. There's just no diversity here really, which is a shame.

Don’t know why people on here are dissing adventure bikes, I remember my GSXR 750 being absolutely brilliant to ride... for about 20 miles before my back and bum were killing me, nice to have both types if u can afford it, done big trips on my vstrom 650 , hundreds of miles in a day with no aching body issues. So, if you want to look cool for half an hour at the weekend or just get out and tour then that’s all fine, each to their own.

As a big Yamaha MT rider (owned a share of MT07s and MT09s) I have to say that 800nk GP caught my eye. Love the look of that bike and I bet that thing is a great track bike. Currently ride an MT09sp that doubles as my track bike but love that CF moto

When Kawasaki went up from 300 cc's to 400 cc's the 300's were dirt cheap. Everyone wanted to wait a year. $2,999.00 was what I paid for mine. The same thing will happen with the 400's. Look for good deals on Ninja 400 and z 400 models. This is the best time of year to shop a bike.

I’m not going to lie but CFmoto is coming out of the gates swinging. They are deeply invested in the market and turning out everything that someone could want. I have a 450ss and I got it for a in town bike. Currently I live in a town with a lot of little turn off roads that make having a small displacement bike very fun. I thoroughly enjoy my 450 and I’m blown away by the value. I literally sold my ZH2 because it just wasn’t as fun. So I’m excited to see some of these other bikes they make and if you are in the market I highly suggest a 450ss over the other beginner bikes (which I’ve also owned).

Bought 800nk myself, the build quality of their bikes today is on par or even better than the japanese bikes I got and compared to KTM itself. Only downside so far is the ecu map, I believe CFmoto detuned it so the 790 could have a little bit more and I feel it at the bottom end the rpm bogs too much it felt restricted and the delivery isn't linear but this only happens in sports mode. Nothing that a proper map could fix but bike is still under warranty so I don't want to mess with the ecu just yet. I heard a remap of 450sr/ss turns the bike up a notch too.

@@PLF-Bass I buy what I like. They offer the best value for my money so they got my money. Support who then? US who funds wars? European brands that ask more for less? The only thing you can knock CFMoto for now I guess would be reliability but guess what, they're more reliable than EU brands. And just because I bought from a Chinese company doesn't mean I support CCP's ideology too. With your logic, most KTM models from 790 below are built in China, would that make anyone buying KTM supporter of China too? Yamaha recently partnered with CFMoto too, are they supporting China now too? Since I have time let me educate you on bikes built in China. -Harley Davidson HD350, X500 -Benelli -Moto Morini -Honda CRF125/250 -Suzuki gsx250r -MV agusta and QJ Motors partnership That's just on the top of my head and that's for motorcycles only if we include cars, you might be surprised that almost all companies have models made and assembled in China to give you an example, Geely owns Volvo and partnered with Nissan and Renault. Toyota, Honda, Ford, Volkswagen, Jeep, just to name a few are known to be partnered with chinese car companies to assemble cars and make parts for them in return these Chinese companies use this opportunity to put the known brands R&D and tech into their own vehicles. So with your logic, should we veer away from these brands too because it would mean supporting China? I really dislike people like you who discriminate certain brands just because it is made from a specific country, fyi, gone are the days of specific standard for a country. Japanese perfected the mass production, China innovated it.

My favourites definitely are NX500, MT450 and Himalayan 452 (451.63cc). These are favourites as the seatheight is not an Everest away from my toe while the power is not intimidating yet practical which useful in 95% of the time. These are just my personal opinions as I feel mostly are too heavy and too tall if not the financial department issue 555 (ha ha ha in thai). Cheers and keep up the awesome work 💪🏼

If an adventure bike is ridiculous for most riders, what about a scrambler? The Svartpilen bikes are really tempting to me. Also, you have to admit the Himalayan makes sense. Light, cheap, and it's parts add up to something that just works extremely well.

Your table was interesting too and significant that the Chinese brands featured significantly and that 3 big brands didn’t bother to turn up, really surprised BMW didn’t bother, in my mind it does send a negative message to potential customers.

Good review. I was set to reserve a new Scrambler 400 X until I was given the OTD price. The price quote I received is as follows: Nearest dealership starting price is $5,995. (The price on Triumph website is $5,595. Price already increased) Freight: $1,200. Set Up: $500. PDI: $300. Plus taxes and fees. Total price is $8,752.66. I was looking forward to adding another Triumph to my collection. Sad to say I will pass on the Scrambler 400 X.

Not convinced Honda (my favorite manufacturer) deserves an A+ but Suzuki sure does. Also, what about the EV’s - were they virtually a no-show? That aside, I’d like to know how MotoBob would rank the EICMA “festival” - is it really pilgrimage worthy; what are the pros and cons of the event and, going deeper, how do the manufacturers feel about it?

Good questions. Firstly we don't really cover EVs because generally they don't do that well with the audience. But there were plenty of electric bikes there to see. It's a great show that's a must visit once in my opinion, especially if you tie it in with a couple of days in Milan which is a great city. Plus you're an hour from Lake Como which is worth a trip, and maybe a chance to do the Moto Guzzi factory tour up there too which isn't far away. The only thing I would warn you is that Friday and Saturday are extremely busy to the point that you can't really get near the bikes. So I would aim for Thursday if poss, then do all the other sightseeing over the weekend. As for the manufacturers - well it felt like a few brands went cold on it during COVID. I believe it's very expensive to run a stand, and most manufacturers were forced to get pretty good at launching their bikes online during that period. But this year felt like it was on the up again, and it was only really BMW and Harley that were missing. Maybe it's just not worth it for them, but it would have been pretty much a full house which (perhaps selfishly from a content perspective) would have been amazing.

The one manufacturer that seemed to be overlooked by nearly everyone was Kove. Last year their big news was the 450 rally, but I'd have loved to have a better look at the new 800X adventure bike. I know it's a Chinese bike brand, but they seem to be very passionate about bikes and show great promise.

I've been enormously impressed with CFMOTO the last couple of years. They're really pushing strong against the the big 4 Japanese bikes and I'm all for it. I was initially very wary of "just another Chinese bike company" but boy have they proved me wrong and even turned me into a fan. The Suzuki GSX-S 1000GX, Moto Guzzi Stelvio, Ducati Hpermotard 698, Yamaha XSR 900GP and Aprilia RS 457 really standout in my opinion, but Kawasaki surprised me alot with their 500cc lineup, Royal Enfield however spoiled the Himalayan 450 too much prior to EICMA. I'm also disappointed to Suzuki that they didn't released the new version of their GSX-R 1000, to Yamaha on their upcoming R9, to Husqvarna on their upcoming Vitpilen/Svartpilen lineup, and to Triumph on their upcoming Daytona 660. Also That Hornet 1000 styling looks so bland to me, and it looks like a nonchalant sibling to Z 1000 and Streetfighter lineup.
