I miss that 2 stroke sound that's all we heard as kids. Now I'm getting older and have 5 dirt bikes and not a single 2 stroke in the lot. Maybe I'll remedy this situation.😂

I watched the two stroke event at hawkstone park last April it was awesome the sound of the bikes echoing through the woods brought back some good memories! And that hill is steaper than you think to walk up on foot with a plastic pint in hand 😆🍺

I first caught the sport in 74 at 12 years old, when a kid could buy his own bike. Hannah just came from nowhere to kick butt in 76 when I first started buying MXA (much better mag back then). He was confident, cocky, and packed the race tracks/stadiums. I can't express how impressive an individual like that can be for a 12-15 year old kid. Then came Johnson, Bailey, O'Mara and Ward, but I would have to say the best era was from the beginning in 68 to the production rule of 86. That is when the USA was starting to dominate, and the bikes in the mid 70's to mid 80's development was like a race in itself, and a lot of people made money improving them. That rapid development and the fact that a kid could still buy their own bike, and had places to ride,---that era can't be beat,--and the bike sales prove it. :)
