Haitani actually explained that he used modern just to deal with burnout pressures. Like in case opponents is trying to use fake block strings/DI/DR he better watch out since modern Chun Li can always mash out level 2 in time. Her level 2 is fully invincible, armor break, travel full screens, meaning it can literally punish EVERYTHING either on reactions or on read.
