Ryan manipulates Kelly into breaking up with Darryl, ostensibly so they can be together but primarily because he's threatened by her relationship with Darryl and wants to disrupt it and make himself the centre of her attention. 3. It turns out, however, that Darryl is no longer invested in the relationship (if he ever was) and reacts to being dumped with a shrug and an okay, not the anger and conflict that Ryan was expecting / wanting. 4. Ryan is left to face being in a relationship he deep down doesn't really want to be in with Kelly while Darryl, quite relieved to be out of his relationship with Kelly, happily walks away from it all.

Outside of the core four (Mike, Dwight, Jim, Pam) Darryl's the best. There isn't a single moment where he's onscreen that he isn't absolutely hilarious. I love Darryl. Always related to him the most after I got a job working in a warehouse for a company who had the front office/warehouse in the same building, I fully understand how he feels. Dealing with clueless front office employees like Mike, watching Mike destroy an entire section of racking on a machine he has no license for. Or just asking dumb questions about equipment he isn't qualified to use. Or dealing with the stupid events front office would put on that would interfere with our shipping times. Having to ship at 2pm but the warehouse is shut down for some stupid BBQ or something like that.
