Doubt the Oscars would every allow them to actually shine with their jokes. Watch any of their hosting gigs at Independent Spirit Awards - they roast everyone and don't hold back. Oscars is too "polite" to let them do that stuff.

Colbert and Carrell! Stewart's fantastic but wasn't really a real improv guy. Colbert and Carrell did so much great shit together from their humble beginnings to Dana Carvey Show and then on to The Daily Show.

There's also a short film called Shock Asylum where the both appear and its as disturbing as it's interesting.
