I once went on a date with a girl who I had met on the internet. We had been messaging each other for weeks beforehand and had really hit it off. Our first meet up face-face was at a pub for drinks. I didn't have a car at the time, so I walked to the pub to meet her, while she drove there. The date was going fine but the pub was a bit quiet and dull, so I asked her if she wanted to go somewhere a bit more fun. A friend of mine was in a band and they were playing a gig that same night in another pub, so I asked her if she fancied it. She seemed to like the idea, so she said yes. However, this pub was on the other side of town so we had to drive there. When I told her I didn't have a car and asked if she'd be ok driving there, she said Ok but I could see something change in her face. I ignored it at first, but then it came time to go. We were on the other side of town to where I lived now, and she was just going to walk out and leave, so I asked politely if I could get a lift home. You should have seen the look on her face this time though. It was as if I'd asked the most innapropriate question you could think of. She reluctantly agreed and drove me home, but she had completely turned to ice and didn't say a single word to me the whole way back (about 5-10 mins). I felt bad, so I just told her to drop me off near town and I'd walk the rest of the way. She ghosted me after that. I swear I've been on a dozen or more dates where I've picked the girl up, taken her to 2 - 3 different places, anywhere she wanted to go, then dropped her off directly outside her home and made sure she was safe. Yet this one time, with this one particular girl, I respectfully asked for the same thing and I get smashed for it. Am I wrong to be a little bit peeved by that?

Not really. How can you love someone if you don't know how to treat yourself with love in the first place? Acknowledging your own mistakes or flaws, forgiving your own ignorance or sloppiness so you can learn from them to better take care of yourself is part of the loving process. Love is deeds not just words, sensation(sex) or feelings(Falling in love). If you're not a narcissist and have a tad bit of common sense, you understand that everyone want to be treated like that, so by then you know how to take care of someone else besides yourself. I'm 5'11" and it is amazing how many men claim to be 6 foot who cannot look me in the eye. It was difficult during school days. I was always put in the back row for group photos, always at the end of the girls' line. In highschool choir I was assigned to sing Tenor because there weren't enough male voices. In highschool gym I was made to dance the male part for dance classes. The gym instructor never bothered to raise the parallel bars to accommodate my height. It wasn't until after I entered the workforce that I began encountering men of comparable height. And even at that, I use discretion about wearing a high heel. Funny. When I was 17 I was walking with this gal one summer,our eyes were level. I am 6 ft 1 in. It was just the most fantastic sensation. We became an item for a year,she finished her master's degree,there was no way ,I was too young to marry and support her,so one of the worst days in my life was to put her on the plane and send her back to her folks. I don't even care about a "hot" meal every day. A marriage counselor told my wife to leave me alone for at least an hour after work. " It doesn't matter if you think his job is more physical than mental. He definitely put up with a lot and needs to soak it in and relax ". I said thank you so much. Someone understands. A ex wife that graduated from UT somehow couldn't obviously. A useless English literature degree. Anyways , I got messages throughout the day and after work about bills. I mean the second I walked into the house screaming at me frantically about bills. The therapist's words meant nothing. Her years at the university meant nothing as far as bringing in money. .....but she always felt she was smarter that me and others. People could not stand her and she eventually got disability because the therapist testified she was capable of forming a relationship suitable enough for anyone to even work around. I got out and my son understands completely. It truly was a living hell.

Most people need some time to adjust to their home setting and are tired and hungry, might want to change into comfortable clothes and relax then eat a good supper. I guess about an hour. But my husband used to give hugs relax with the children and offer to help if needed ( mashing potatoes or such) , have a snack and coffee then we ate together . Business is not an appropriate topic at that time. We had a time for that separate from family time.

OM MY GOD!! I use to work with that girl who laughs about a $40k income, the one @ 34:55. We worked at high scale gym in San Jose, CA called Club Sport. She is correct about $40k being low and $100K salary is the medium, but in the BAY AREA. I do believe she had no right to laugh because I know for a fact neither her nor her boyfriend break $100k annually (even with both their incomes combined). Her boyfriend is a photographer. I no longer work at Club Sport and last time I check she was a still a manager at Club Sport which pays $30-$35. I actually had a girl in a wheelchair shoot her shot at me years and years back. I used to see her at the same bar quite often. She was a really sweet girl and all that and we had a nice chat. About 8 years ago I was single and had been for about 5 years. I was perfectly happy with just doing my own thing. The dating scene even back then was headed this way. I met a great woman that isn't materialistic , or woke , just an average country girl . She has a good job, educated and funny if I hadn't met her I woukd probably still be single bc I wasn't going to settle just to not be alone.
