diamond cave also awe inspiring ....in old days there was no entrance fee ... now is expensive ... but ive sneaked in a few times since got expensive at about 2am .. theres thai sleeping at entrance, so we quiet ... leave the thais beers and a pack of smokes and go in the cave at the dead of night .. the infinite silence of nothing beneath the world ... is awe inspiring .. who ever thought that silence could be so loud ... blew me away

Am a traveller ... been far and wide .... am uk london born ... lived between nai harn phuket and railay west for over 7 years .. lived on railay west beach on white sands, in the jungle, right by the ocean .... you guys should have gone swimming in the phosphoressence of the ocean, in the old days on railay you just had to simply walk in the far reaches of the ocean and you got sparkles at your feet, amongst your toes on the beach .... and in railay theres an old path to tonsai that is above beyond tide times .... and many other old paths in railay that have been forgotten. Shame i was not there to show you the old railay before it got shattered into infinite pieces and overwhelmed by tourism

my advice for tourists in srilanka is as a srilankan , do not drive motor bike . it’s not easy to drive bike in SL ROADS for a road trip unless you are familiar and one way traffic is crazy

Hey Brock! So Ashen is right if you are looking to travel at a normal pace and see absolutely everything there is to see in Sri Lanka; you need 4 weeks. If you want to group Sri Lanka into a travel itinerary, I think you could hit the highlights two to two and a half weeks. However, that would be missing some of Sri Lanka and traveling at a little bit faster of a pace. The faster you travel, the less your travel days on trains or tuk tuks would be spread out. okies ... railay old school .. in wrong irrelevent place but thats good so not all see ;) if you stand on railay west and look to the sea ... on your left is the limestone mountain ... theres a hole in it ... this is railay west viewpoint ... youve done railay east viewpoint ... theres the lagoon forking off that point (go at high tide its better) the lagoon is jurassic. To get to railay west view point there are two paths ...... can stand on railay west looking to sea ... head left to end of beach ... can climb up through the jungle ... theres bamboo ladders and ropes and can climb to railay west viewpoint externally. Or can walk to phra nang beach ...get to princess cave and go right .. to the end of beach .. right to end of beach then go inland .. theres a tiny beach, youve found this already i think. But theres also a path to the caves to phra nang viewpoint ... head to the caves ...when in caves over looking beach turn around head up to the left (if was there could show you) theres three caves in darkness , you will need a torch but theres ladders and you can get to railay west viewpoint .. its amazing
