Everything is on point im Canadian and my ancestors are from England and Scotland also Ireland and on the east coast of Canada we use the word bii its just another word for saying man or bro etc , he says it at 30:15 if you get on like that bii or beh we say they will scalp yuh I just noticed that now.. in Canada on the east coast especially we sound apparently like a mixture of English Irish and Scottish because 90% of our ancestors are from these countries so when you google Newfoundland accent you will know exactly what I’m talking about lol love this show

@@inexorable3564 It’s because the Peakys have beef with the Calvary, or the “uniforms” as they talked about in the scene prior. If you notice, none of them raised a toast made by the uniform. The reason they don’t like them, from my understanding, is because during the war, the cavalry left the Smallheath rifles sitting in grave danger while they drank and played games, for three whole days as I remember, in one incident according to Tommy. Tommy, Arthur, and John were waiting on Prussian Cavalry to sweep over their position, but thankfully the charge never came. Nor did any reinforcement. It was also mentioned that they (meaning the infantry in general) waited in "freezing mud" for 14 days on cavalry as support earlier in the war, and that was mentioned earlier in the series. I think this is also where the phrase “in a bleak midwinter” comes from. Class issues aside, they bear a genuine grudge between each other due to their military history.
