Was almost ready to buy but will now wait for the 2024’s LG 27GS95QE which is about to be announced at CES. It promises to offer double the SDR peak brightness at 400 nits.

I have this monitor myself, I am a Series x user. I primarily play games like forza, cyberpunk. COD, mortal kombat, and this monitor works perfect for that, I do see that Msi and Alienware is coming out with some qd oled monitors in 32 and 27 form factor, they look enticing, however I've heard that Samsungs qd oleds have more risk of burn in than Lg woled. As much as I want to get the qd oled, I'm going to keep this monitor becuz it works perfect for my use case which is strictly gaming. I love it. Sometimes it won't finish an image clean but after a few triggers it finishes eventually. If I were to edit video on my Mac mini, I'd use an ips monitor instead.

If you’re only going to be 1440p gaming and you can’t push more than 240fps, get this. Otherwise the alienware 360hz oled, or the lg dual 4k 240hz + 1080 480hz is better

@polochris4697 exactly. 1080p is technically closer to 2k. People don't realize that 2k resolution is used in cinema, which is 2040x1556 or 2040x1080. There is no such thing as 2k for computer monitors.

I returned mine, the LG 27 OLED it isn't 100% flicker free it makes me sick and eyes hurt, can't run it in 1080p over 60hz, too bright at 0% in dark room. 27 is too big for competitive gaming which is why all pros use 24 inch 1080p. The stand doesn't adjust all the way down in bottom out position, at 1000 dollars and 27 inch it doesn't have speakers built in and it has very little opinions in the menu for such a high dollar monitor. I am 10x more happy with my $150 100% flicker free 165hz Asus Tuf gaming 23.8” 1080p monitor ips monitor with built in speakers.

@@TechTicals Flicker-Free No PWM Dimming Frequency The LG 27GR95QE isn't flicker-free because there's a slight dip in brightness that corresponds to the refresh rate, the brightness dims every 4-5ms at all brightness levels, like PWM this flicker cannot be seen by the person unless you use specialized high speed cameras. People sensitive to PWM and flickering should stay away from this LG 27 OLED monitor. I had to return mine because the flickering made me sick and my eyes hurt after the first day testing the monitor, this is how they were designed to work, not a problem with my model that I returned.

I mean you don't really need the HDMI 2,1 on a 1440p monitor plus the Asus 27 inch OLED monitor is superior over the LG OLED monitor it's brighter etc
@TechTicals Жыл бұрын
HDMI 2.1 gives you more bandwidth than DP 1.4 which is included on these. This means that my signal wont be compressed when running at 1440 244Hz 12bit, which means that there will be less latency. I really like that there is 2 on the LG. but you're right, the Asus has the better panel implementation.

Matt screen, poor fine details, not a great monitor really, fine details is one of the most important things period for a gaming monitor, a 32" glossy 360hz+ RGB-OLED is what I'm after.
@TechTicals Жыл бұрын
Detail is pretty good in games, not for productivity though, I do think that in a perfect world, a monitor for this price should not have these issues
@Wobble2007 Жыл бұрын
@@TechTicals Text clarity is the perfect benchmark for how good a monitor is at rendering fine details in games, so not great for RTS games for instance or RPG games, anything you play close up on a desk will suffer, fine for video and cinematic console games at a reasonable distance though, just not great for a PC gamer, even worse if you like emulation or pixel and indie type games, those sprite pixels need a nice sharp RGB screen to look their best, so does any good shader. It seems a lot of these new OLED displays forget they are supposed to be monitors, not TVs, TVs are viewed at some distance, monitors close up, in my case I like to be really close to the screen when playing games on a monitor, the two display types should be treated very differently in production, and a gaming monitor should never have a matt type display finish, always glass or glossy plastic.
@TechTicals Жыл бұрын
@@Wobble2007 I’ve compared it to my IPS panel on my laptop which has a higher resolution and ppi, in desktop applications reading text I agree with you, but when it comes to games, I can’t see any of the text fringing, I’m sitting very close to the monitor.
@Wobble2007 Жыл бұрын
@@TechTicals I've noticed all sorts of horrible artefacts on these OLED panels with non-uniform sub-pixel layouts, chromatic aberration, as has been shown with VR modules, a non RGB stripe sub-pixel layout can dramatically drop resolution perception, trying to make shaders look good is impossible for instance, for some they may not even care, but if you are used to really high clarity RGB monitors, it may really turn you off.
