A nice bit of kit, my battery one is very old, but still working, but even at 22;2 volt takes forever to get hot and not consistent. Nice to see you are keeping safe and are well.

It's an awesome little soldering iron. I bought one a few months ago. It truly is portable. As you already noticed, it heats up quite fast. they do offer firmware updates for this iron. With one of the firmware updates, the iron can heat up to 450 celsius. stock out of the box, if I recalled, it can only reach 400 celsius. But if you want to use its full potential, 65 watts, you have to use a 24v power supply or 6S Lipo. They also sell different tips for the iron. Barely used the battery at all, had 4.1v left on each cell after I finished and was plugged in for 10 mins or so 👍

I'm awfully tempted to try one of these..😎 I like that you used a good length of wire in your connector test.. it shows there is enough heat..😎.. nothing worse than a cold solder joint..🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the review brother pat..💪

I've had the TS100 for ages. Pretty much the same as your one. Excellent bit of kit! I keep mine in an old glasses case to keep it all together.....fits in your bash bag easily too..... keep safe Pat, cheers.

No worries. My soldering iron is like your 240v one but made by Weller, it's pretty good but that lipo one heats up so damn quick!

It will work very similar on 3s, just take longer to get to temperature, the lead is about 30 inches long dude 👍

There are some custom firmware (Ralim) for theses and i recommend to use them to add neat features like a battery gauge for 4s or 5s battery with low voltage cutoff, translation, and the ability to change every setting directly on the iron

Years ago at harbor freight tools (discount tool store) they had a digital wireless soldering iron named the "cold solder" it wasnt meant for thick wire but it was a neat concept it was around $15 wish I had bought it!😪

Tin a new tip before using it, a bit of solder on the tip before soldering makes the heat transfer quicker for a better joint, also put solder on the tip before you turn it off to protect the tip from oxidation. A good, well looked after tip makes soldering so much easier.

nothing new here just a copy of the old original TS100 soldering iron used by the racing drone community for years now these can be flashed and customised logo written to the startup and are capable of being run up to 450 deg not really recommended for using on large guage wires but perfect for field repairs
