Prestige for sure! If you go back to early 00’s, when one-handers started to become hare (but tennis had already moved consistently to baseline), prestige would be the choice for more than 50% of one-handers

To me it’s important to have stability for 1hb. Aero 98 is one of the most stable rackets I’ve used. I also liked the new Radical MP with some weight. Tecnifibre - weird grip. Percept - great but for the right player. Vcore 98 - ok. Shift - ❤ but it hurts my arm like there’s no tomorrow. Love hurts 🙃.

I definitely agree with the the Iga, when I tried it felt fantastic on backhand, unfortunately my forehand was terrible with it. Have used a couple of 100s with no issues. Found 27:5 hyper carbon pro staff i used years ago had good plough on my backhanded.

I have not tried a lot of the newer racquets. But I've found that the normal Clash 100 was not good for my one hander. It was quite good for my slice, but my topspin backhand was mostly uncontrollable. I liked the Head Extreme Pro a lot. My only issue with it was that it was lacking with defensive shots and wasn't great with reaction volleys (mainly because of the very light weight, I think; it also feels a little hollow to me). The one I settled on is the Angell K7 Red. It's a 98 sq inch head size, very solid feeling and easy on the arm, and a bit heavier than the Extreme Pro. Haven't wanted to experiment with the very latest racquets since. ;)

I have moved to a Vcore 100 2023 300g. This is the first 100sqr racquet I have used. My previous ones are, Old VCore 98, VCore Pro 97 (310g), Ezone 98 (DR and AI), Blade 98, Prostaff 97, Head Radical/Speed(1 month) , Babolat Strike Project One and Angell. Head without a doubt was the worst, tennis elbow every time, even with Speed 100. Biggest regret getting rid of... Dr98 and Strike. As I am older I need help, and the VCore 100 enables me to whip through and drive backhands on returns, and when your defending you can still get the opponent to play one more shot. Any racquet you try you have to put a lot hours... its taken almost 3 months to really make the VCore to work for me. Strings, and also minor weight configuration.

No love for the ezone 98? Love it on my one hander. With leather and lead, feel like it’s very stable and easy for me to flatten out the ball. Plus the larger beam helps me easily generate power when I’m on the move and counterpunching (my preferred way to play).

I use the Yonex vcore 95 and love my one handed back hand. I tried the Head speed mp the other day and didn't mind the back hand swing feel, but I hated how slippery the throat paint was. My left hand kept slipping down the throat when I was trying to set up for a shot. I'm sure if I really wanted to this would be an easy enough fix though.

Hi Jonas, I know you are not a big fan of the Aero 98 for one-handed backhands, at least yours, you mentioned, but I find it to be very good for my one-handed backhand esp. compared to my old RF97 V13. I can hit angles, whip the backhand on the run, things I had trouble doing with the RF 97 V13.

For me personally i need the control and especially the maneuverability. Getting in my set position is the most important. For me nothing beats maneuverability than smaller head racquets. My personal favourites are the yonex vcore tour 89 (current frame of choice), prince phantom 93p 18x20 & 14x18 and yonex vcore pro 97HD if you are looking for something with a bigger head. Also angell custom racquets are awesome for one handers as well but you gotta know what specs work for ya.

Actually I seem to enjoy a 100 sqr/inch head quiet a bit on my one-hander. I currently use a cx200 and even with a lot of weight at 3 and 9 it cannot compare to the stability of a 100 head (On my old speed pro my backhand felt a lot better). Stability on blocking and driving fast incoming shots seems to be overlooked sometimes when talking about rackets for one-handers.

Great video for all one handers. Have been using the Wilson Blade 98 16x19 for many years playing competitively on ITF masters and 5.0 leagues and want to transition to a stick with a tad more easy power , spin and control to gain an edge as a senior aging player. What are your thoughts on the Head Speed MP 100 ? Was not much convinced for my game with the Boom and Extreme frames .

I will attest to the ease of use of the Technifibre tf-40 315 g. on ohb. Fairly whippy as he says. Good flex. Thin beam. Easy to generate topspin in either string pattern, though 16/19 feels a bit more lively. I prefer the denser string pattern.

I remember testing Wawrinka's old Yonex Vcore Tour 330g version and that was quite good on my OHB, pity I couldn't dial in the forehand as good as my current RF97 (weighted to Fed-spec) tempted to actually get another Yonex cause I do agree that the head shape helps quite a bit for OHB shots, will look out for the recs here

Try the Ezone. I had a similar problem with the newer Wawarinka spec vcore pro, where my backhand felt like butter but I couldn’t generate enough pace and everything was dropping short. When I switched to the Ezone 98, I still got that buttery feel on contact, but a lot more free power (cuz of the thicker beam), allowing me to counterpunch with ease. I’d recommend a leather grip and some lead in the center of the hoop to give it a tad bit extra stability though.

I’m looking for a new racket and have nailed it down to these lot : Yonex Ezone 98 Yonex Vcore 98 Babolat Pure Aero Wilson Blade Wilson pro staff (Maybe other Wilson ) Which would you say is best for my style of play which is very briefly an agressive player that hits serves flat or with spin, backhands flat, for hands flat and with topspin, If I can’t finish the point quickly then I love to add slices to my game… I really like playing at the net to finish a point quickly. Overall I like playing all over the court. Thanks for the help and great vid again

If you open a power/spin category for OHB, then actually you can choose any racquet below 100 sqin and above 300g weight. No surprise that the list is far from complete. Blade98, Ezone Tour, CX 200, Regna 98, Phantom, the list is very long. Even a Gravity Pro is more than just decent for OHB, I demoed one (unfortunately strung like crap), felt good.

I have a strong one hand backhand and felt like I was hitting it better with my old Dunlop Aerogel 400 than the Yonex EZone 98 I'm using now. The trade-off is uncomparable though. Ezone 98 is so much obetter n every other aspect pretty much so not a big problem. In any case, I guess there are rackets suitable more for 1h backhand but a player shoudn't buy it just for this factor only.

third Prince Phantom 93P 14x18 and 18/20 both are awesome for a 1HB becauce of the small head with the thin beam an the head light balance. Although the SW is over 330 the Racket cuts through the air an is extrem fast to swing. Before i used Gravity Pro that was great for Forehand but without the slice it does not work well on the 1HB. Same with Babolat Pure Aero VS Forehand very good but the lack of feel fit not for my 1H Topspin Backhand. Also very good for 1HB in my point of view. Wilson Ultra Tour V2.0 und Wilsoo Blade V7 and V8 and of course Head Prestige.

Jonas, I’m pretty sure your on screen specs for the TF40 are incorrect. It’s 310mm balance on their website, which I think is 7pts headlight. I own two, pretty close to Tennis Warehouse tested spec, and their balance points are around 31.5 strung. I think they are pretty good for obh, although my technique and strength (or lack therof) is getting in the way of the racket’s potential 😂

Thoughts on the Clash for One-handers? I know it's technically not a 2023 racquet. But, I'm still curious.

@@Tennisnerd Thanks, I've tried it a couple of times and it's felt really good for me. Somehow the flex feels more natural and it's very maneuverable.

bro, you can play the onehanded with any stick you like. doesnt matter if 95 or 105 inch racket . its personal preference.

For me, the best for OHBH is the Pure Aero. 100 sqi is the best size.

Babolat Pure Aero! you like it? as a onehander? 》 Impossible! 😂 With your statement you make a fool of Tennisnerd haha. But yes it could be possible: If you string 55kp+, with a very dead string. mabe a thick 16 Gage. but why the hell choose a wrong racket in the first place? and adjust the setup to make it work? I think of Marco Cecchinatto, a onehander too. seems to trust bis Babolat Aero.why? good question😮

@@miguelbarahona6636 I am impressed.and shocked! found some videos with both Puerta and Shiavonne playing excellent onehanded backhands. and memories comeback. (1990/2000s) Corretja played the Babolat Puredrive, (100 head too) and his OHB was so nice;). 》 Maybe there is no right or wrong racket for OHB players at all? From the analytical.point of view Tennisnerd is right: swinging OHB is easier with smaller head, lower SW. But does that knowledge automatically help a OHB guy who has been playing with a 100sinch spinmonster his whole life. Finally Muscular memory has a huge impact.

Hi Jonas, I thought that was one of the best videos you've done so far (Thank you!). One question; what is your feeling about the stiffness of all the rackets you mentioned here? I did notice there was a lot of difference, with some being in the 70+ RA range, and some in the 50+ RA. With all the different technologies in vibration dampening, are the higher stiffness rackets okay for arm friendliness with the technology, or is it still something to have to consider?
