Throughout all of high school, I started One Piece through this game and through a Shonen Jump magazine. I caught up to the series by graduation, as One Piece kept me going through some extremely hard times. And keep in mind, I graduated when Punk Hazard was ending in the manga.

I've always wanted a One Piece game that plays like Sea of Thieves where either you play as a named pirate group or just some random group where you can find devil fruits or something as well as being able to fight famous pirates as like bosses or something as you get to/through the grand line

Unlimited Adventure is actually the only One Piece game dubbed by the now defunct Funimation, who bought the English rights to the series back in 2007 after 4Kids lost it. This game was released in the west in January 2008, four months later, Funimation started to release the re-dub & uncut episodes of the East Blue Saga.

@HerooftheWild That's actually half true. It is true that Funimation wanted to dub One Piece (alongside Ocean Production & Blue Water) back in the early 2000s. But it was Toei Animation that gave 4Kids the English rights of One Piece due to believing it will make them more money due to Pokemon's popularity. The only problem was 4Kids wanted nothing to do with One Piece. This, unfortunately, backfired due to 4Kids didn't even bother studying the series, and that led to what became the infamous 4Kids dub.

Unlimited Adventure is so freaking good, it's the reason I didn't throw my Wii away. It's practically a collector's item for One Piece fans, especially in the US, since it's the only title dubbed by the Funimation cast. I put so many hours into it, unlocking everything; if it got a Switch port, I wouldn't buy it. I just don't have that kind of time anymore.

I remember when I played this and faced Kaku. I was in serious trouble because he killed easily all Strawhats (because I was too cocky and laughed his giraffe look) except Usopp. I sucked really bad with aiming and Usopp's fighting style but THIS TIME Usopp saved the day xD Good times.

12:40 This is an example of something I see a lot when I compare older games to modern games. A sort of "backwards progress" caused by higher fidelity assets. Basically in older games you see way more in the way of extras, hidden modes, costumes, characters, outfits etc. Of course part of that is companies intentionally withholding things to sell as DLC but part of it is that modern development pipelines are ill-equipped to deliver on things like this. I deleted the paragraphs I found myself writing going into the reasons why this happens but simply put... Higher fidelity assets means either delivering fewer assets or making larger teams and larger teams generally means fewer 'extras' being added. I have often said that I'd like to see a return to 6th generation fidelity assets just to see what AA and AAA developers could do if they weren't hamstringing themselves like this.

I watched my cousin’s friend play this game and unlimited cruise on his Wii, I remember being baffled by it because it was the first One Piece game I saw since the grand series, I remember wanting to make a game with the same mechanics and concept(stuck on a deadly island) but with my own og characters. God I wish we could get another game like these

so, fun fact, this game has a spiritual sequel called unlimited cruise, only released in the pal regions outside Japan and I own both parts (it was released in two episodes) and there's little to no guide to it anywhere and I had to write my own damned guide over the fishing and capture locations. I haven't written notes to help me with a game since the ps1 era.

Unlimited cruise 1 and 2 are my favorite one piece games by a biiiiiiiiiiiig amount. The versus mode is really fun, I kept fighting my sister with random selection and it was quite entertaining to fight whitebeard as a mudman.

I loved One Piece unlimited cruise! I played it alot as a child and i always loved to fish in it. It's arguably the most fun i've ever had fishing in a video game (and normally like fishing in games). Catching those giant fish dragon thingys was mind blowing for me.

You can tell the devs are really massive OP fans, who really went above and beyond what was needed or expected. I love all the little animations, the new outfits to go along with the original story, the attention to detail. World Seeker, Odyssey, or Pirate Warriors really feels so bland and corporate put next to this game.

I’ll have you know that I have played Unlimited Adventure. XD hilariously it, alongside a Shonen Jump volume with a few Post-War chapters in it, were how I dove headfirst into One Piece. And I still like it to this day solely on merit of the “adventuring and exploring” side of One Piece. Pirate Warriors 3 is my absolute favorite One Piece game, purely for the “large scale fights” of One Piece norm, and because of the attention to detail of the lore, the vast amount of characters, and the costumes.

Oh this game was so so sooo fun. Unlocking moves, equipment, areas, collecting stuff! I love the Pirate Warriors game but more of this too please!!! World Seeker was good too but you could only play Luffy (and DLC Zoro)

I always was excited for the Bosses. Guessing wich one is coming and I liked it, that the Bosses where strong. After I played it once, the Bosses become pretty easy for me.

So for fighting bosses, what's pretty much to do on the prep list to both survive and beat them are 3 core components. First is getting all the possible food items with the max benefits for the ones you use cause the HP/SP boosts while small do build up to let you be not as conservative for stamina and at least take more hits than usual. Second is having possible skills at a nice level as not only are they used to upgrade/unlock new ones, think they also passively deal more damage. Third is having all the possible upgrades to the fast access slots to have more items on hand to use fast with no need to rotate out from the bag a lot. Also Usopp can be useful if you use the Z-Target the game has to focus on a specific enemy as he will automatically aim at whatever is targeted if you don't put in any directional inputs after committing to the attack. Really great for chip damaging bosses both the triple A and shake attack also the first special is a great hp slicer for the non knockback giant bosses, seriously that was my go to for taking out Whitebeard in VS.
