Maya...here is some perspective and clarity for you. I'm more than twice your age and by most standards considered to be pretty successful in my career. But, you are where you are, doing what I would trade it all for and what I long to be doing. My life choices and commitments have led me down a different path not easily diverted from. Your choices of music for this video is outstanding, Maya's music style is a lot like the amazing Rhiannon Giddens, Rhiannon is a musical genius, she is trained as a classical vocalist. which gives her a lot of flexibility in her vocal performances, she plays 7 instruments, when she is not performing solo, she is part of an amazing band called The Carolina Chocolate Drops, they are so entertaining, I spend hours listening to them and always trying to find new videos on them. They have been blessed with winning 4 Grammy Awards and several Emmy's. Maya, I am 61, a professor of literature and creative writing, was a musician/composer in my younger days (I still do play, but not for a career,) and am almost ready to retire onto my own yacht. I love what you are doing here. Your writing, and reading of it, is very beautiful, and quite literary. I enjoyed your playing/singing of that Madeleine Peyroux song and think you should write/record, and perform your own songs as well - in this series. That style is perfect for you. Don't think too far ahead. Hone your crafts, skills, and talents. Keep letting nature, and your instincts, guide you forward as you as you are already well schooled. You are way ahead of 99% of people on this planet. Both of you are amazing in your own ways. Gambatte!

Aladino (SP?), all you need to do is to lean the cello and you will be just like Master and Commander! I also like the brief introduction as it gave me a feel for what you are sailing and a nice concise history of your story. Another great video and thanks for sharing. Lovely video! I’m probably 3 times your age and agree 100% with TimH. Worries or anxiety about the future are entirely natural, but with the advantage of hindsight (wait a minute! Old is an advantage?) you recognise how unproductive they are. As an aside, I love our Windpilot almost as much as I love my wife. 😉 We have a SmartPilot for the tiller, but hardly ever use it. I’ve always imagined the Med to be marinas, superyachts, and tripper boats, but your travels show a much more attractive side.
