I have been the recipient of way too much quality content from this site to not contribute. I'm not the type to look for ways to spend money I don't need to and I'm sure my "accountant" would not approve, but fair is fair. Excellent video as usual.

This might be 4 years ago. However, I will be coaching and teaching my wrestlers this on Friday. We failed at this yesterday at our duals. Thanks as usual.

I'd be interested to see what you do when they have a front headlock and/or knees on the ground rather than sprawling out. Great video. You don't often see this level of expertise in explaining the subtleties of this position.

you may have seen it by now but he has a video titled something like "drag out vs peek out" where he explains how to escape the front headlock

The peek out has failed me so many times before. Now I know why. I can’t wait to try it again the “Brian”way. I’d loved to know what you do from “sprawl control” (one arm in).

MMP please Don't worry too much about the thumbs down, ignore them...think about this: you have a shop that sells the best ice cream in town, you have 99% of people giving you the best feed back but you will always always always have that guy that is not happy because of the shop wall colours, of the biscuit pieces he finds in the cooky cream (yes doesn't make sense right), there is always the ones that gone say they doen't like icecream (so why are they buying in the first place) there's always that customer that doesn't make sense but he is always there, he keeps coming as if he needed to make his mark to whinge because it makes him feel important..my conclusion: being online implies you have to cater for everyone even for those that don't make sense of their own existence because even for those the fact that they come to give thumbs down, you still help them in ways you can't imagine otherwise they wouldn't come. Awsome. I love your tutorial techniques. I'd also touch base on the redirection snatch single from that position. You can get a really good slam with a lot of momentum. P.S. make sure you tell them to use their head when cutting the corner. OH! Attack the hips and not the waste. They can high leg over if you attack the waste.

Great wrestling technique. Thanks a lot. Definitely thumbs up. I have to say though, there's a Short Sit-out and a Long Sit-out. The version which you said is "poor" technique resembled something in between the two. If you would've slide a bit further, you could've just turn around and push yourself backwards and stand-up (sort of like a Pyramid get-up). That would be a Long Sit-out, which is mainly used for getting away and getting up. Short Sit-out (or Peek out as you referred to) is designed to reverse the position and catch the opponents back, as you showed so nicely in this video. I often use the Long Sit-out as a great alternative against those opponents who are constantly mindful of Short Sit-out, and position themselves against it.
@adrianarroyo9374 жыл бұрын
I'm having a hard time trying to understand how the long sit-out would work out. Could you post some link where I can see what you mean? I've looked up to pyramid get-up but I hadn't find anything related to grappling

I know this is an old video and might not have an answer, my question is is there preferable side to peek out like the side you tried to take the single leg form ?and about sliding to far one day I did this and the guy fell down on my arm that under him and almost got injured😢
@brandonaxtell49515 жыл бұрын
What to do if your opponent is in the front head lock. Which side do you peek out
@exodusxp80945 жыл бұрын
Peek out the side where your arm is able to elbow the back of his arm so if he has his arm left over your right arm then go to the right

Is there any difference for the peak out if they do have the front headlock that you said not to use while drilling? I ask for BJJ. Are you saying not to drill peak out with front headlock because of the torque it will put on your partner’s shoulder or do you say this because the technique changes?
