Haven’t been there for decades, but Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg are some of the very best places on earth. Definitely Velcro places. I spotted a restaurant where we always used to eat when in the area. Thank you for all the wonderful images. The memories came flooding back.

S/v Nanu Nanu here- watching this as hubby and a friend are bringing our boat to Yarmouth, NS--- going to enjoy exploring Lunenberg, Mahone Bay, and all the other magical places! Thank you for a beautiful preview. Love that you love this place so much! After this paradise, head for Mackinaw Island Michigan (Lake Huron) and the Benjamin Islands and Killarney- amazing hiking, fishing, boating, and island hopping :)

Sophie, your wry twist on life is always a joy. I'm glad I found your channel. I think, but don't know for sure, that it was through M&J Sailing. I follow several sailing channels and cannot believe you don't have 100K subs.

Racing is a lot fun. My purpose of racing: Learn as much as possible about sailing. We had already learned so much that a Beaufort 7 was considered a good challenge as well as a lot of fun (we used a full keel heavy displacement boat for that sailing challenge). The old guy (skipper) who had teached us has about 55 years of experience, including Atlantic crossings - and a few weeks ago, he decided we was good enough for being on our own.

You should ask to go in the one design bluenose races there! I was out a few weeks back now and it was a ton of fun! Very competitive even with light winds! My offer to grab a beer still stands and chester is even closer to Halifax haha! Hope you two enjoy the local scene! Chester really is a gem!

Nova Scotia has been on my bucket list a few years. I’m back to an office job after living on board last year and returning to Lake Ontario but the next time I leave will be out the st Lawrence and I will not miss Lunenberg. Amazing spot!

HI, we have been following your moves as you came down Long Island Sound. You are now moored near the statue of liberty. Trying to get away for Lee we also came down the Sound and stopped, again, in One 15° Brooklyn Marina. I mention this place in case you do not know about it. It is a great location to visit the city. We stayed here for two weeks before sailing north. We went up the Hudson to Croton-on-Hudson. As far from Lee as possible. Probably overkilling it. But great fun. Peter & Lory

Sophie, I don't know how you spent so much time on a sail boat, and are not a die hard racer???😁😎 When my residence was in the South, I spent all of my summers, that I could arrange, lake or coastal racing and cruising. Best wishes from Northern Canada.

Coucou Sophie et Ryan :) We found your channel on KZbin 2-3 weeks ago when searching for videos teaching "how to sail" as we would love to explore more of the world by the ocean. Today I was like: let's check if there are videos of people sailing around where we live (Mahone Bay - mais on vient de Belgique!).... guess what I found? :D Very amusing. Oh and we also bought your course, it has been a delight to watch, thank you to the two of you for all the work you put into your content.

@@sanyaomerovic1659 Corrected, J 40. BTW, the best way to start shopping for a boat is sailboatdata. I explains some of the recent comments by various boat oCapsizing screening formula, Comfort, Sail Area / Displacement are my top three stats. Although I have no idea why Sweet Ruca is happy in such furious weather.
