BLUETTI EB3A portable solar generator battery review. The EB3A is a Power Lifting Champion that can run devices most other power stations this size can't. The Bluetti EB3A is a portable power station a 600w AC inverter and 268Wh LiFePO4 internal battery. The EB3A has 9 outputs, and can charge at a rate of up to 430W watts with the AC adapter in power turbo charging mode. Between the AC inverter and charging capability the Bluetti EB3A is a strong power station among the 268Wh range. These power stations are excellent for camping and off grid adventure with small devices.

Just finished driving from Florida to Nevada (via Mexico) with 12v fridge (and sometimes food warmer) plugged into EB3A which in turn was plugged into the car's 12v. Maintained fridge perfectly and stayed mostly at 100% until we stopped for the night. Never fell below 50%. Strong point of this unit is higher wattage inverter and flexible charging. We use our Ecoflow Delta 2 for higher wattage and watt hour demands.

I just bought one. They are great. Got a 3rd party 200W solar panel for it as they are more a commodity and the Bluetti one is a little rich price wise. They are supposed to be releasing a new cable that will allow you to link this (and other Bluetti units) w the 806W expandable battery B80. That would turn this into a 1000W+ unit.

For us who have no idea what the different plugs are for, Id love to see a video that shows the power station actually hooked up to devices. IE: a small lamp, a computer, a heating pad, electric skillet, etc? What appliances can this actually this be used for? I already have a small portable generator but have only tried it on one lamp with a led bulb. Of course my husband took it so he could read LOL. Do I need a different generator for each room/ person? Can you show if multiple devices can be operated at one time? Demonstration please. 🔌🔌🔌📻📺☕🔌🔌🔌

I looked at this while on sale but it never made any sense to me. at only 268 watt hours having a 600 watt inverter is pretty pointless as you'll only get 25 minutes of run time at full power. its in the weird space of being too big or heavy to carry around for light stuff like hiking/foot travel and way too small for things like powering a single fridge, tv, pc, well pump, or electric starter for gas furnace or water heater for any reasonable length of time. Either go with a portable battery pack to charge your phone/camera or tablet, or go with a 1280Wh lifepo4 battery and a separate inverter to power a few key appliances during a blackout.

One problem. The EB3A needs at minimum about 10 watts solar input to start charging. In bad weather conditions, early in the morning oder in the late afternoon you get no charge. A Jackery 240/500/1000 or a Eco Flow Delta 2 takes every incomming watt to charge.

One thing I would add about "turbocharging" mode is that it is a great feature when you really need a battery to charge up quickly, and used only occasionally, it won't hurt the battery life appreciably. However, faster charging does degrade the battery more over time, so for maximizing battery life people should charge as slowly as their circumstances allow. If one is going to let it charge overnight or for quite a few hours before you need it, charging it in the slowest mode (silent) is best as it will still charge in about 3 hours at that rate. If you need to charge from zero in an hour once in a while, sure, use the fast charging mode.
@mspat8195

I used the fast changing outlet, on the plug-in wall charger, for my portable power banks & 2 (different brands & ages) no longer charge! @randybobandy9828

@mspat8195 no.. it wasn't the fast charging that ruined your device. Something else went wrong with it. The cells are rated for over 3000 charge cycles and that's just until the max capacity is reduced to 80%.. they can go for thousands of charges more than that. Your bms or outlet on the device must have failed or melted but it isn't the cells themselves.

It would be great to use as a ups for my router and modem if it didn't switch from battery to AC power all the time and disconnect the router and get really warm. The best use for this would be something like a router running off of solar. You can maintain a constant 10 to 20 watt output and maintain that overnight and then catch enough of a charge off a 100 or 200 watt panel as soon as it got light to keep it going indefinitely. I don't like apps so do not use them. BUT I bought several of these for the light weight, the fast charging, the LiFePo4 battery, and the great display. I can use them in a couple of places in the house for charging my phone and for running a fan AND I can charge them fast and then charge up one of the larger heavier units without carting the big guys out and then back in. As a senior with frequent back issues, this is very useful, although not the most efficient way to use them.

What kind of solar panel do you use to power up the Bluetti EB3A ? Everything sounds nice just for camping. But I am looking for the best power station to run my refrigerator, when the power goes out.
@wildhog3217
@wildhog3217 10 ай бұрын
My eb3a is set at standard charging mode w/eco set @ 4hrs. It would charge at 200+watts and then only charge @ 125 or so watts at 50% charge. It seems that I can’t switch charge modes to silent or turbo at this point. I most use it to run my 32 or 42 quart 12v car fridge that uses between 35 to 60 watts when compressor kicks on. Using the 12v outlet it would run fridge set at 34 degrees in eco mode for 15hrs and via ac outlet it would barely run for 10hrs. In ac mode the wattage being used was 70+ watts. Is the Bluetti converter using some of that wattage? The thing I’m concerned most about was that I couldn’t change charging mode and how charging wattage in standard mode would go from 200+watts and down to 125 watts at 50% charge. I was also using the Bluetti app also to monitor device.

I have a Jackery 240 and love it. I have been thinking about getting another Jackery but decided on the Bluetti EB3a instead. Walmart (yes, Walmart) has them NIB for $198 and when available Bluetti has them factory refurbed for $139! $139 for a certified factory refurbed unit is steal but they are not always available. Sorry, but I got first dibs!!

So, could the power lifting mode be used with an Instant Pot? I would expect its wattage to resemble an electric water kettle. 🤔
@OffGridAdventure

Hi, it runs my 3qt Instant Pot for around 30 minutes from a full charge. So, the battery is a little small for cooking, but for me it’s perfect to boil water with my electric kettle.

You can use a 12 volt mini rice cooker if the cig port is at least rated at 10 amps. Plus, many regular rice cookers they sell are only 300 watts. My 12 volt mini rice cooker uses only 100 watts and cooks rice in 30-35 minutes. I`m sure I could let it run for 25 minutes then unplug it to save battery. But it even works with my tiny Golabs r300 and only uses 22% of the battery to cook one dry cup of rice so it`s much more efficient than an AC rice cooker. If you look on the "A" store it`s the green and white one with a cat or panda cartoon face on the side. It`s a must have if your power station`s 12 volt cig port is 10 amps.

Hi. I’m new to these batteries but I bought an electric leaf blower and snow blower a few years ago. What’s the best way to check if this box will work with these items? Right now I plug into an inside wall outlet in an old house with no outdoor plugs. This may be the solution I need to plug in outside where I’m working. Thanks for the tips!
@mikemazzantini6397
@mikemazzantini6397 Жыл бұрын
You'll need to check what the power draw of your leaf blower and snow blower are. As long as they're lower than the rated output of the battery you should be able to power it. That being said, the overall size of the battery will determine how long you can power it.

@@mikemazzantini6397 i’m a little disappointed. Actually, I had to order another one and return the original bluetti because the first unit didn’t seem to work with solar panels. I’ve seen a few videos on this and could not get any help from Bluetti. I ended up returning the first one and the second one is on the way it’s been on sale for $200 so the price is irresistible.

@@marvinmurakami8828 Thats actually amazing, I like the upgradeability. Just checked prices though, the solar panels are almost tripple the cost, but then again, portable solar panels usually are. Update: I modified my post after further research! I just realized the batteries are LiFePO4, the cost of the batteries are actually not bad at all. Solar panels are overpriced, but they are similar to the costs of other portable solar panels.

Based on this review, Id say a person should keep looking. Why pay for features a person cant or shouldnt use because doing so may harm the device or what you are powering? This means the average buyer would be paying for unused features as some people noted in the comments. Also, does this require the use of a smartphone or are all features accessible in the device itself? Also, can firmware be updated without a smartphone?

@@cvcoco you asked some valid questions and we are all trying to find the best for our buck. I would say, you should only pay for what you need it for, I have seen some power boxes for 30 bucks! I would think the main functions are available on the device itself but more options with the Bluetooth app or remote like most other regular devices here in America. I think the main drawback on this device is the popular consensus that it needs to draw at least 10 amps of solar to charge, whereas others, like jackery boxes, charge when solar is detected.

I get that I would need to buy a power brick and or solar panel… but can I just plug it into my cars 12v or 110v plug (low amps) and charge it while driving?
