Hey Allie, I've been watching your videos for probably a couple of years now. I remember before you guys started your family and I'm pretty sure you hadn't moved into the house you're in now. I know it's maybe not the most appropriate place to mention this, but I lost my mother a few weeks ago and I hope you and any of your followers who read this have a little thought for my mom. What you said about skin prep is absolutely key. I have enlarged pores, etc. and was using primers for years. It may not be necessary. Primer can also be tricky with working well under your makeup of choosing. In recent months I have focused on skin prep with no primer and have been enjoying the results. Definitely not trying to take away from this video at all! I still enjoyed it and may use a face primer again. We all have different skin and what works for one may not for another. I love the elf liquid poreless putty primer. I have acne, and this topped with Maybelline Superstay 24 hour skin tint is the perfect combo for me! I live in Florida, and my makeup stays on all day with that combo, even through the brutal heat.

I just started using the BB Vitamin Enriched Face Base and I love it. I use just powder over it for a perfect base. And yes, there is something about it that makes makeup go on perfectly. I put it on and give it about 10 or 15 minutes to sink in.

WOW! What a fun and helpful video! I’m going to love this series!!! I discovered you through Nikki LaRose a few months ago and have become a fan! I’m a 60 year old woman with very dry skin. I have been stuck in a makeup/makeup-less rut and dove into KZbin to learn about what’s out there now and what would be best for my skin. I’ve been a fan of NARS LIGHT REFLECTING FOUNDATION for years. I’m planning to try Armani, Westman Atelier and possibly LaPrairie but now, I’m going to wait for your foundation video!!! Omg, I can't believe you included my review of the Tarte primer in your video! ♥ When you said "Cristine," I thought, wait is she referring to this Cristine?! haha. Loved hearing how this year's list compared to the one from a few years ago and think it would be fun to do that for the other best products in this series. One other primer for those with skin similar to mine (oily, large pores, acne prone - yes, even still at the age of 48!) is Iconic London's Velvet Smooth Pore-Refining Primer. It's a completely different texture from the Tarte primer, but I also enjoy it. I think Iconic London is an underrated brand and also love their Kissed by the Sun highlight/blush.

Hi Allie, the Milani’s no pore zone mattifying face primer,works brilliantly on me I have oily ,mature ( 57yrs young), sensitive skin and I live in Australia and our summers can & usually are very hot ,this primer helps me so much to keep my makeup in place ( even through a hot flushes) and it’s drugstore, what more can ask for. Favorite foundation is the Elf Soft glam. Blends beautifully, and it’s just the right skin-like finish. Quick question please…should these primers be applied before or after sunscreen? I’m always confused about this, and I’m interested in trying the NYX plumping one, especially under the eyes.

I have the Bobbi Brown primer, and I love it for everything except the smell. It's one of my least favorite kinds of scents (very lemony), and it puts me off from actually using it. The scent does dissipate, but I still am not a fan. Otherwise, it's a great primer! I've recently started noticing more texture/pores on my face, so I might get the elf liquid putty primer. I'm also eyeing that elf glowy primer since my Charlotte Tilbury one is on the edge of expiring. I prefer to use the Charlotte Tilbury as a highlight, and spending less for a replacement is always a win!
