We love our Shield K9 puppy. He is exactly what we were looking for with our family. He is such a stable, good natured dog. Haz has an amazing skill at matching people and dogs.

Thank you for being so responsible with these dogs and putting them in the homes that are best for them and the people. Also, I love that you get these raw dogs, pick them on their genetics and then do training to bring out the very best in them. Great job Haz!

Much respect to you sir. I follow you and several others, and you are the one who really jumps off the page and seems very knowledgeable, or much more so, than most of the others from a very practical and NON self serving standpoint. There is a well known company, and I am sure you know of them, called Protection Dog Sales, and they are, at least in my estimation, ridiculously priced. They tout that their dogs are "home trained" and offer a "build a beast" program which entails them keeping your puppy, for a LARGE monthly sum on TOP of what you pay for it, for the first several months of their post weaning life, and then sell them to buyers for an amount that I would think is more than insane. Basically to me anyhow, it looks like a family run operation - owner, daughter and son, that gives personalized training to puppies that I feel anyone who is moderately trained in puppy behavior and training could do. They basically in the first few months of the dog's life teach them tricks with a clicker and treats. Easily. I get and understand that this company does not exist to cater to the average person or people like me who want a competent companion and guardian when needed, but rather executives who want an alternative for their family without constant security fences or whatever, but their prices are, in MY opinion, laughable. Seventy five, ninety five and even WELL over a hundred thousand dollars for a dog, who is after all, a dog which could be neutralized by a weapon? I personally have had three protection dog breeds, and I'll admit, other than basic sleeve work they were going on NOTHING but instincts, and they were AWESOME, and I paid less than a grand for each one. No thanks. I'll take my chances with a good, solid working breed with good genetics and some Shutzhund training sprinkled in for a fraction of that cost and if I'm in the position where I feel threatened to that degree, carry my Glock with me which is what I do anyhow. I'll keep my hundred grand, thanks. Thank you for all of your very informative and insightful videos.

I am a combat vet, for LEO, and current security consultant and you are 100% correct on PPDs being a poor ROI in most cases. Security is best in layers, but relative to other options (cameras, lights, weapons, mobility) dogs are simply not wise. I am especially skeptical of Protection Dog Sales as a company. They have good control in scenario videos. I strongly suspect his dogs have heavy equipment bias with limited civil aggression and no ability to take pressure.

Protection Dog Sales are a joke. They openly brag about how they "don't train the dogs to attack or release on command because only an unstable animal attacks on command", and that dogs will always "just know" by pure instinct how to read a sketchy situation and what people are dangerous and should just react accordingly, when some of the most dangerous predators are the people who can walk up to you like everything is normal and then flip like a switch without warning, and some of the most harmless people can act erratic and flamboyant. Ivan Balabanov said it best. "The person to protect yourself from is not always the person who looks agitated." They act like their dogs are so infallible and incapable of making a mistake that they're proud they haven't put any protection commands into their training and then jack up the price because they taught them a lot of useless circus tricks like "sitting pretty" in a child's toy car while they drag it around. The fact they charge 100k+ for dogs that they've taught to have reactive aggression with no control commands is batshit insane and highly irresponsible.

Really respect how you go about everything with your training programs, dogs etc. Really making sure the dog and clients best interest is the most important thing. Would love to see some Presas or other breeds youve worked with in the past

Wonderful video. Especially since I am currently looking at going through Protection training.Though I do wonder, why do the dogs not attack the arm holding the weapon? As powerful as the lunge is, if by some reason the person holding a knife or gun manages to hang on to it after being attacked, wouldn't that basically spell death for the dog?

His dogs are completely health tested, with xrays. I can assure you that no dog in this video has hip dysplasia.
