These days it's difficult to find quality and an affordable price when eating out, in fact taking the family for a pub meal these days means taking out a mortgage. However we came across a Pub in the English Countryside that serves home made food at a price not seen for decades. We visited on Steak Thursday and were amazed how they can offer such good steak that is supplied from the local farm and butchers at such a cheap price.

Now that is real proper pub grub mate. Everything cooked to perfection and at a dfent price too. This is why independent family run pubs need to start stepping away from chains. You then have control of where you get your produce and what prices to charge. Like the old days. 10/10 for these meals Lee. Thank you to yourself and Ange for another great video👍

I'm thinking you got preferential treatment there Mr MacMaster I was in there a couple of weeks back and we both got half the amount of chips that you got and not as many prawns in the prawn cocktail either. However nice place to visit for the views and the landlady who served you was very pleasant and welcoming.

I'm glad you got to eat across from where your family ate years ago. Great memories. Great video well done. The steaks are medium rare! Watch closely, only the tip of your steak is medium, the rest is medium rare, note the reddish pink around 20 minutes in. Hers actually looks slightly more cooked at 19:55. Come on, let's see those onion rings dipped in the high dollar pepper corn gravy. Deserts looked awesome. A very satisfying view, I'm sitting in 100° (38°C) roasting in central California with a big grin on my face. 😁

I can vouch for Ravenshead farm shop, they’ve got a top notch butcher in there and all of his produce is really tasty. Never been in the Bird, which is odd as my wife is from Blid’uth and I’ve known the current landlord for over 30 years! Keep meaning to go and see him, maybe I’ll ask for ‘mates rates’ 😉

This pub is perfact.true and genuine. Never change . This is a comfortable pub ,pleasing to look at ,lovely staff ,and food made with pride the kitchen staff are professional in there cooking This place is gold .10 /10 Not celebrating can beat this .when you know the coustomers have good staff ,you work in well together ,there the local heros.

Proppa pub, proppa grub, proppa service. Proppa carpet, looks like it's from the 1970's but I like that, unpretentious, honest and much prefer a bit of comfort rather than a minimalist gastro pub in ubiquitous light greys and greens that charges you through the nose.
