Separate Ways does its justice in setting up Ada as the premiere superspy that she became in that story. Raccoon City was clearly her break into the business with Wesker, working under him for 6 years, you can see how Ada has become tenfold more adept in her espionage, able to control her facade and contacts substantially better than in ‘98. I’m just happy Ada is actually starting to have a coherent storyline that can be followed from 1998, she’s even still using disguises which elevates her role as a spy even more. 🕵️‍♀️

I’m so glad I played it in Hardcore first. The boss fights were really hard and makes the entire experience much more rewarding. Capcom might have cemented RE4R as a modern classic.

I’m not sure , but I feel another dlc is very possible , even though we got to see a lot of not only what Ada was doing but also Luis behind the scenes of the main game, however we didn’t see everything Luis was doing , maybe there could be a dlc of Luis before Leon or Ada arrived , like when he decided to betray saddler and remove the parasite , and we could see how the village started to change , similar to Zoe’s dlc in re7 with her family. Also there could also be one with Wesker, like if he was doing his own investigation , how he tracks Ada, and how he got Krausers body, and the island wasn’t even completely destroyed. Idk just theorizing 😅😅

Yk what.... a Luis perspective could give the prl 412 we've been missing... bc unlocking it after Luis playthrough makes sense as he is the scientist... so he'll know how to make a gun that kills the playas directly

Capcom learned from the RE3r debacle. You can tell when the dev's care. Wish this DLC was longer, but $10 was very fair. 10/10

This is my favourite DLC in the franchise so far. I think in terms of delivering good story content, the remake's Separate Ways, and RE5's Lost in Nightmares are probably the two best DLCs in the series. (I'm excited to think of the ways an RE5 Remake could improve upon Lost in Nightmares!) I like "Not a Hero" and "End of Zoe" from RE7 as well, but mileage may vary; I know RE7 is divisive

I have to say now that Resident Evil 4 game now complete with the best dlc effort but I do think that it all leads to the resident Evil 5 coming out pretty soon probably in the next year. I don't know what you think.

This was a runaway hit. Capcom took the original and improved it from the ground up. No complaints from me, none. Worth the $10 price over getting the whole game again. I think Capcom is listening to the fans. Here's hoping for more in the future.

Is it just me or did it seem like the game was a hell of a lot more generous with Gunpowder in Separate Ways? I swear I could barely ever find the stuff in the main game, yet I was CONSTANTLY crafting more stuff in Separate Ways, even on Professional?

Easily the best DLC released! (Lost in Nightmares being a close second) As cool as a reworked RE5 would be with this set up, I struggle with believing this was the best path to follow for newcomers to the series. Without a modernized RE1 and CVX the Wesker context isn't there and I can see people asking who the hell Wesker is and why is he so important. CVX has so much Wesker lore in it, and without it, all people have is the minimal mentions from RE2 Remake. Either way, I'm excited to see where Capcom goes from here! Great review as always Ant!

Spoilers in my comment ………………………….This dlc is SO sick. I love the liberties they took with the boss fights. They basically have all cut content that fans wanted to see just reimagined in different segments. The black robe becoming a sort of stalker enemy with multiple boss fights was a similar feeling to the og nemesis . Itwas really awesome to see the re 4 remake from a different angle

I'm currently knee-deep in several other games. But given the fact that this is only $10 and has unanimous approval from the fans. I don't mind picking it up and backlogging it. If anything to tell Capcom keep up more of this please. I think given their recent track record it's safe to say Capgod has returned.

Finally, I got around to finishing it yesterday, and the failed experiment creature was a nice surprise. Separate Ways great from start to finish the pacing was on point, and Ada's grappling gun added some nice moves into the combat gameplay, making it feel great.

Honestly after seeing what they did with Resident Evil 4, I really want to see what they can do with RE5, I just hope they do a better Inventory system, because RE5's was absolute trash. And if they do give you an AI partner, at least make them competent.

So, I’m broke and don’t have Wi-Fi. I took my console and my physical copy of the base game to my friend’s house to download the “separate ways” add-on. I take my console and game back home and can’t even play the shit. Can someone help me. Can you play DLC if you download from using another’s Wi-Fi once you take your console anywhere without Wi-Fi

Did you download the latest Re4 update as well? Separate Ways won't work without that. You have to install both the Separate Ways dlc and the update file. The internet source doesn't matter. Start the game while still connected to the internet and it will automatically download the update, then you have to manually install it. Once you do that your good to go offline.

Incredible DLC. I enjoyed the original one but this is so much better! almost completely different aswell. This is even better than the RE3 remake in my opinion. And its longer😂and only cost 10 euro for me. Well worth the money. The ending is what's most interesting for me🤔how does this set up future installments I wonder?

RE4 Remake was phenomenal on its own, but with Separate Ways and the Mercenaries being completed it's an out of this world experience for me. It's just as good as the original and surpasses it in some areas.

Idk why best dlc is the popular opinion, it was pretty mid to me. They made Ada more unlikable somehow, and gameplay was largely the same. It was cool, but not amazing imo
