It still annoys me that Capcom didn’t put the Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch... makes no sense.. those were Nintendo games! When you consider how well the Mega Man collections sold on Switch, you’d think the Afternoon Collection on Switch was a no brainer... Please tell me they didn’t for some reason to do with waiting for the launch of the Switch Online service... but then you could argue they didn’t wait to bring the Mega Man & Street Fighter Collections... so my hope again plummets to the floor :(

Bryan sums up my feelings perfectly on Wolf 2 - makes me feel less crazy to hear someone else saying that (ppl yelled at me that graphics aren't everything). Game got reviewed like "this is a great game because it's a miracle it could be ported" instead of, "this looks like everything is covered in gray clay and is therefore hard to see and play." Switch audience should be imo vocal about wanting games made with the Switch in mind instead of getting pissed KH3 isn't coming. When I bought Switch I got sold on 1080/920 docked and 720 handheld - yes graphics aren't everything, but when I see muddy ports from games like Crash (had probs in Crash 1 with judging platforms placement) I start questioning thiiiiiiings. I can limbo no lower than Doom Switch (in the looks/framerate department).

+John Polishimpossible2say The switch is a great platform in some very specific ways, in a complimentary way to a main gaming platform. I do feel sorry for people that have made it their primary console for all games, because AAA ports are always going to play badly on it. I don't think Switch owners need to be particularly vocal, as the sales of those AAA game ports speak for themselves, and because they are so low, we are and will continue to see fewer and fewer titles. I would recommend to anyone able to afford it, picking up a PS4pro to combo with their switch. They are likely to see a price drop soon, and there is a bunch of titles that are fantastic for cheap available. I am fortunate enough to game on a switch, PS4pro, Xbox one X and my main platform is PC. I can't think of many AAA games where I think "hmmmn I wish I had this experience in awkward handheld on the go".

Jacob Smith - By vocal I MOSTLY meant with your wallet. Last year on Switch unlocked this massive hunger for games I didn't know I had (BOTW sucked me back in last April 2017 after basically not modern gaming since the Gamecube). I just think it's messed up Nintendo is even allowing a situation where you have to contextualize disappointment by stating that "it's good if viewed as a complement to other platforms". They don't even need a ton of huge AAAs, just smaller games that are TOTAL quality and made in mind for Switch, like Octopath or Mario Rabbids. That'd be all I would have needed, if on the regular and not the exceptions. "Needed" meaning that I did buy a Pro this April. Bought one because of specific things (1) Dark Souls getting delayed with no new date and (2) I built the LABO house for 2 hrs only to discover you played like 3 mini games to feed it things that changed its color and basically nothing more (assumed it'd be more Tomagatchi like). Was like "why the fuhk did I blow 70 bucks on this?" LABO isn't for my age, but by April I was super bored. Bayonetta was cool in feb, DKCTF I played most of with a friend on WiiU years ago and Kirby in March was so autoplay it rushed and broken. If Dark Souls wouldn't have been delayed I wouldn't have bought a PS4 , and just would have waited it out. BTW Pro is great, (had a blast with Far Cry 5 recently, Persona 5 is sick, etc) only complaint on that platform is that so much on it WANTS to be taken so seriously or be SO cinematic that it lacks that Nintendo immediacy I crave.. Anyway, to wrap up a rant, I wonder if many other people are burning out on Switch like me? Between the lack of compelling new 2018 software for the audience that made Switch a success last year, the fact that me + most others have a PS4 where upcoming Switch ports can be purchased on the cheap and that the joycon in handheld mode have KILLED my hands in the last year...if more stuff like DMC 5 and RE 2 arrives on PS4, I could see my Switch purchasing habit dropping to maybe 2 - 3 games a year.

+John Polishimpossible2say I agree with everything you say sir! Nintendo has a way of making games so fun to play, that no one else has cracked or even tried to really. But, as you have pointed out, they release them so infrequently that unless you want to play a bunch of indies (which is what I use my switch for on the couch next to the wife!) it is going to collect dust. I use all of my consoles for the exclusives that they offer, and I play pretty much everything else on PC. I cannot emphasise enough how much I hate the switches controls in handheld mode. I bought a rubber grip to make it more comfortable, and it still hurt, so instead I use a controller and screen holder. I have large hands, but I imagine it sucks no matter what size they are. The issue is that the right joystick is too low down, so you have to bend your thumb really hard to use. I cannot recommend enough the Witcher 3, if you haven't already given it a go. It certainly takes itself extremely seriously, but it plays like a dark fantasy RPG meets game of thrones vibe. And if you haven't given God of War a go, I think it is on par too. However, neither game will scratch that itch that nintendo gives of freedom and fun play, but they are the two best games of the last 10 years from the other platforms (imho). I literally have nothing to look forward to on the switch for years, basically until the drop metroid, as i could care less about smash, even though i understand why it is great.

+Jacob Smith I'm getting a good Switch portable grip with a horrible name (Satisfye) from a kickstarter next month, so hopefully that helps (adjusts the angle of your wrists and stuff too). When undocked I started using a Nintendo licensed Hori USB tabletop dock (can buy the non-usb version in the US - usb version is only thru Amazon Jp or Play-Asia) and a Retrobit Usb receiver to synch my dual shock with (works perfect, even has motion controls) when I play platformers on it. The Switch Pro controller is the most comfortable grip I've ever felt but the D-Pad is garbage and beyond inaccurate. BTW the kickstand on my Switch has trouble staying closed once I open it up and I've been afraid to send it in until they get cloud saves going (another Switch perk, lol). Despite what I said above I am still keeping my preorder for Dark Souls on Switch...because I know I'd never play it on PS4, when there's so much else on my shelf competing for PS4 time, when I turn that pupper on (Assassain's Creed Origins went on sale for 30 bucks on best buy today, for example). Splatoon 2 will keep my Switch from permanently ever collecting dust, bought it on a whim during it's launch month and play it at least for a week or so every month since - probably the best game on that system (most fun I had on it was surprisingly Mario x Rabbids). Every person I know who games talks up Witcher 3 as the THE PS4 THING so I will be on that as soon as I finish (or get tired of) Persona 5 or Origins (in the mail on Tuesday). Feel lucky to have some money in this new golden age of gaming - but if this were any other time in my life, and Switch was the only thing I could afford, this year would have left me feeling "pumped and dumped" after last year. BTW pt.2, Smash Direct got announced for Weds...was hoping the next one would be about the secret releases Reggie teased investors...my Smash hype is weird...haven't played since the Gamecube, and that was fun against friends...not sure how that will feel for me...up and down about it. Would have rather had that energy put toward FE 3 Houses hitting the promised 2018 date.

Definitely, when I was a kid I played a great variety of video games. I really love alot of the different genres out there. I still plan to play a variety of games, but having less time and a growing backlog it feels more daunting to keep up. I play games like Destiny 2 and Sea of Thieves that have timed content where I feel like I need to keep playing those games or else I will be behind or not get the thing that I want. It's been something that I have been wrestling a lot with lately. I do play with my siblings and friends online and that's how we keep in touch and hang out because we all don't live in the same town. So, I don't want to stop playing D2 or SoT because I have lots of fun, especially with my friends and family.

Duke Nukem 3D is on PS3 & 4, and they come with a rewind feature; also the original DOOM games are on PS3, these games hold up and are still great to play. Surprised there was no mention of The N-sane trilogy or the upcoming Spyro trilogy. Various Sonic the Hedgehog games are on PS3, some of those are worth playing. although you're probably better off playing Sonic Mania. Unsure why a guest host is needed, surely Mr Davis could take on hosting duties.

I completely agree with Brian when he said just because it is magical and awesome to squeeze something down to the switch doesn't necessarily mean its great. I have a switch and a ps4 and if I know I'm gonna play a specific game like wolf more in tv mode (cause i would for that game) I always go for a ps4 version if its available. I absolutely love my switch and play it way more than my ps4, but so far it seems like if the game isn't build specifically for switch or optimized for it or the switch can't comfortably handle it there is no reason for me to get it when I have a ps4. Portability is amazing and like I said I love the switch, but I have to be real and say not everything SHOULD be on the switch. I need my smash to hurry up though no lie

Oh man, I love you guys, but this was painful to listen to. How can you not know Sunsoft? Seriously. Here we have the NES, the most important console of all time, where it ALL began. And then there´s Sunsoft: the undisputed champions of the system. They figured it out like none other, and made some of their gems look 16 bit. Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Journey to Silius, Blaster Master! They did to NES what Naughty Dog does today to the current PlayStation platforms. And... "there´s no way of knowing"?! Yet, you somehow know all about LJN? This was unexpected. I know for a fact that out of respect you don`t often get the "do your homework / find out who developed it" comments, but I seriously couldn`t believe what I was hearing.
