Is it supposed to sound 3D? It sounded like it had some depth and width but not really 3D (to me). You could use a binaural emulator (like Waves CLA Nx)... but then it wouldn't translate to speakers. The way you're doing it, I guess it translates either way but doesn't sound truly 3D. Just thinking out loud here. Thoughts?

That's when panning comes into action. The dynamic space of your headphones are essentially the space/depth of whatever live scenario you desire to emulate (concert in arena, stadium, club etc...). It also depends on each individual sound. You choose the amount of send each sound should have to fit to your liking.

I suppose 3D is a subjective term. I am not getting on the “immersive sound” train as of yet. My main concern in any scenario is how well it translates on a wide variety of sources. Love the dialogue though man! Good to know that people are giving it a lot of thought, as an educator that is great to hear.
