@@hunterhart1 Oh yeah! The MkIII was and is phenomenal! I'd just want to have the 35mm Art. For the 85mm I have the EF 85 1.2 II now and won't need anything else for the time being. Your take on going back to the MkIII is so cool. :) Hearing the Shutter is really lovely I gotta say. My main Cameras are 2 R6 and a Q3. And I don't want to miss the quality of the Autofocus of the R6. It really gives me a lot of peace because I just know that things are in focus where I want them to be. The MkIII was always good in that regard, but I had to triple check my focus to get it right sometimes. Similar to you focusing like 5 times before taking a shot in the Video (11:42). :) The R6 just gives me peace of mind here. Really great Videos you're producing here!

great images! I also own 35mm f1.2, it's heavy and bulky indeed! But images are one of a kind. The only thing I didn't get is why you recommended Sony GM35 f1.4 instead of Sigma art 35 f1.4? Cos in the beginning you mentioned yourself how much you love Sigma lenses above everything else. Anyways, sigma art 35 f1.4 is better and cheaper than GM, me and my friend tested both out.

@@Kirill-q7i thanks for watching. I’ve used the Sony, not the sigma 1.4, so I’d be lying if I said get the sigma. In my experience, every sigma lens I’ve shot is better but I don’t want to be a liar. Know what I mean?

@@g33k3301 micro contrast and more character. It’s not so clinical, for me, in my opinion I like my work to look just a bit different than others. So many purists out there won’t go for 3rd party lenses and that’s all I’ll use because they aren’t usually perfect. I’d say Sony is about as perfect as it gets, so that’s why I prefer sigma. Just like Leica lenses are perfect and way too expensive for my taste but I’d prefer Voigtlander or a 7Art because they have beautiful imperfections. Depends on your style of photography, it’s all speculation and subjective. Nobody is right.

To be precise, 1.2 is not an extra stop of light, but 1/3 when compared to 1.4 lens. The next full stop is 1.0 lens. Obviously there is noticably more blur with 1.2 lens though. Me personally, I wouldn't walk with such a gigantic lens besides some on location portraits. I own old 50 1.4 Sony Zeiss and it's way too heavy for a walkaround lens. Though, I can imagine walking with some manuall Voigtlander 1.2 lens, but it's not so perfect optically. Great photos!

lol I knew someone would call me out on that, I was just trying to make a point that one is brighter but thanks 🙏🏼. I’d also prefer to walk around with a small Voigtlander or my 28mm f/2 lens, a lot easier on the back. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

Do you find that you are always shooting at 1.2 or are you atn1.4’1.8 because the sigma 35 1.4 is also a sick lens and might even perform better optically I’m talking about the sigma dg dn version and its $799!!! My choice personally because size is very good! And way cheaper than the Gmaster.
@hunterhart1
@hunterhart1 9 ай бұрын
The reason I wasn’t mentioning the other Sigma lens is because I didn’t want to seem TOO biased 😅 I mean I’m already biased enough. In my opinion I wouldn’t get this lens over the 1.4 just because the 1.2 isn’t $700 extra worth it in my opinion. I shoot through all apertures on this lens but just 1.2, a lot of the photos you saw were at 1.2 because that’s what folks want to see lol. I’d go 1.4 sigma (the newer one) over Gmaster for sure even if money wasn’t an object

I started out with canon, and then moved to Sony. I’ve shot Sony for around 10 years now. Fuji is the newest thing to me (other than the X100 system) and people seem to prefer reviews on them rather than Sony. Idk why.

Do you attribute the quality of those pictures to using a full frame camera? Just curious how confident you would be of getting similar quality with APS-C. I keep seeing videos showing examples on other channels that do indeed make it hard to tell the difference, but the examples in this video are of a particularly high quality
@hunterhart1
@hunterhart1 9 ай бұрын
When I think of quality I think of the overall image structure, not just the depth of field. So, in my opinion yes, you could get as much quality as you’d like out of an APSC sensor. If you’re thinking in terms of shallower depth of field, it’s hard to replicate. Just as a medium format has a look that is above full frame in some people’s eyes. Here’s a video I did of my favorite portrait lens for APSC cameras. Maybe this will help answer the question a bit better? kzbin.info/www/bejne/l37Tc2aHoq-HnZYsi=6nI2-Mg13-4Xx6TE

@@hunterhart1 thanks man. I'm a beginner to pro cameras. I actually bought the Viltrox 75mm 1.2 and it has that same nice lens flair and swirly bokeh. I've read 1.2 on APS-C is different than that 1.2 on a full frame but I was kind of guessing that might have more to do with low light performance. Sounds like it translates into shallower depth of field too? I'm not sure what's striking me the most about your pictures in this sigma video, but it might be that the fall off in focus looks particularly nice. They do look sharper in the in focus areas as well than your video on the Viltrox 27mm, but I'm not sure if that same in focus sharpness can be achieved with the Viltrox with different editing or something

@@snoopfroggyfrog7220 the bigger the sensor the more detail + more light that passes through which gives you a lot more blur to your background. I also did a video on the extreme of digital sensor sizes which would be the medium format and you may be interested to see how that looks as well. As far as sigma goes, in my opinion the Art lineup has a very distinct look kind of like the summilux by Leica! I’ll drop a vid link here to see if you can tell a difference in medium format. @@hunterhart1 oh wow yeah. I think I'm seeing the difference over the full frame. The out of focus areas and the transition between in focus and out of focus are especially pretty. Thank you. That has made it clearer to me what all the fuss was about larger sensor sizes than any of the other sources I've checked previously
