My mom made these when I was a kid and I made them for my kids too. But I had forgotten about how yummy they are. I’m going to make them again for sure. The only difference is my mom evenly dropped each kind of chips on top of the warm crispy mixture and put it into a barely warm oven with the door open just until they started to look soft. As soon as it was spreadable she spread and mixed the chips over the top. If the chocolate and butterscotch were a little marbled it only added to the fun. No messy hot bowl! Works like a charm.

These have been a favorite treat in our family for many years. My personal tips are: I spray my glass baking pan with butter-flavored cooking spray, no parchment needed. After they are set up, I use a spatula to get under them to release them from the baking dish and they slide right out onto my cutting board. The other tip, because I'm frugal a bit, I use 3/4 cup of each kind of chips. This yields enough to cover the top well. I never put mine in the fridge because they get too hard! It looked like you struggled a bit cutting them. If you're in a rush, yeah you could fridge them to hurry it up. I love your recipes. So does my hubby! Keep up the good work!

Yes move fast I learned a good way to make regular rice krispies is in slow cooker it works great I found that on pinterest and have done it every time like that it's just easier just remember to spray your cooker first

Now this is a Rice Krispies treat I can get my head around (and hopefully my mouth). 😘 I usually use the double boiler type method for melting chocolate chips. But when I was making your peanut butter pie I melted the chocolate chips and peanut butter together in the microwave just fine. And I also like melting bark over the boiling water. I love stirring that bowl of melting goodness! 😋 And I love sticking something in the melting chocolate to dip it. I just have to remember to let it cool before eating it. 😉 You give us so many great ideas for meals and treats! 😍 Thanks for sharing another great video! 🥰
@robertwalker96792 жыл бұрын
My grandma made these I love them. If you cook the sugar too long they will be rock hard. Boiling is not necessary and easy to mess up. Microwave the sugar and syrup for 1 minute and then add the peanut butter and microwave another 30 seconds. It’s a fail proof method. fun tip the Karo syrup is two cups, so next time you don’t have to measure it. I make these too much!
@CatherinesPlates2 жыл бұрын
LOL, I find you can control the temp better boiling, but y'all use whatever method works best for you.
