The G502 might not be the best gaming mouse, but for productivity it's a charm. Horizontal scrolling and a free spinning mouse wheel add to the weight (and make the noise while shaking).
@kornkernel2232
@kornkernel2232 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, for me it's the best all rounder. It had enough amount of buttons for quick actions/macros and can even add more if using G-Shift feature. The free spinning scroll wheel is awesome, I never thought that I will need it but since I used MX Anywhere, I can't get use any other mice anymore without one. And this is why I'm basically stuck at G502. It would be nice if they can weight shed it, but it doesn't bother me much even playing FPS. The weight actually added control for me and eliminate unwanted shake that can ruin the aim.
@Pr0digyZRX

But when you "lock" the scroll wheel (at least personally) most of the clicking noise stops. Plus you can change the weights in it for more or less weight... making it one pretty great gaming mouse. Best mouse I've used... plus the 25K Hero sensor is kinda great

@James Stubbs This feature (horizontal scrolling) + Free-spinning mouse wheel makes the G502 impossible to replace. Free-spinning is perfect at work when scrolling through lots of code, and gaming without the horizontal scrolling... I just dont know how I side-stepped before in games.

I swear it's like every reviewer forgets that the 502 has those two buttons on the side, which is a huge deal a(for me at least) when playing more casual FPS games, slow-paced FPS (like Squad, that don't need to flick as much), and RPGs. The amount of buttons is the reason I went for the Proteus in the first place and still using a 502 Lightspeed.

The 502 is just the perfect combo of gamer and productivity centric design without looking too gamery or too professional, they really hit the perfect balance and removing even one feature from it really fucks up the whole vibe, if you were to remove a feature from the 502 the absolute last one to remove is hyperscroll

Some games and programs it came in handy with indiscriminate zooming or resizing. It's just a novel nice to have that I can't think of how you could substitute or one-up by other methods. Bought this yesterday and couldn’t be happier. One of few mice my 21x11 cm hands can pull into a full palm grip and still reach at least three side buttons. Usually I have to either pull back into a cramped/uncomfortable palm/fingertip hybrid (most of fingers and top palm resting on mouse, with a void between the mouse hump and lower palm), or my thumb is too far forward in a full, proper palm grip to reach the side buttons. This is perfect for both situations.

I play competitively and use a heavy mouse. I'm 6'3 with hands the size of dinner plates and my job involves lifting 120kg all day. A 200g mouse literally feels like there's nothing in my palm. Although for the average person with average size hands I can understand how a smaller lighter mouse is preferred. I'm just glad not all companies are going down this ultra lightweight route.

It's easy to be put off by plastic that feels "cheap" out of the box but often, they're the ones that resist finger oils the best. The ones that go for the premium textured finishes often just feel nice when it's new but hardly as good a year later of everyday use. Also, on the subject of fatigue on heavy mice, you're mistaken. People who use heavy mice go with higher DPI and therefore most of the movement is done with just small wrist movements whereas, with light mice, you go low DPI with much more arm movement from either elbow or shoulders. You can get fatigued with both, just in different ways. It's not that heavy mice will get you more fatigued.

I have had super mixed experiences with Glorious. I want to love their products but there is always at least one thing that goes wrong. I've had much better experiences with Razor/Logitech in terms of longevity, consistency, and reliability. I really want Glorious to come up because more competition is always better. But I feel like they're still ironing out the kinks in a lot of their products.

Experience is different for every one. I don't own my glorious mice long enough to give a remark about reliability. But from the old mx518 of which I had multiple , the G5 of which I had 2, the steelseries ikari , to the Logitech g305 of which I owned 4.... They all have issues within 2 years. Cable issues , switches going bad and clicks not registering or registering multiple times , connectivity suddenly dropping (g305 turning off while in use )... I've never had mice live long I'd i use them daily . I have a Roccat wireless that lives good and some older Logitech non gaming travel mice... But I hardly ever use them , so it doesn't count that they still live :)

I've had two model os and they both broke within 3 months. Some of my friends broke theirs within 2 weeks. I just used it normally, the plastic became slippy and glossy from being used within 2 months, I hate the honeycomb shells, I just don't like it. I don't trust Glorious after these experiences. The mouse was great at first but then it just all fell apart, twice in a row. I buy a Viper Mini for just 30 dollars and it lasts me over a year still going strong with no problems. Razer's Viper line up was perfect for me.

I like the heavier mouse. Even for flicks, I can't stand a light mouse, I'm constantly moving past my target and I feel like I'm working harder to keep the mouse from going past my target. It's easier to control a heavier mouse with a bit more static friction to me. That said, my hands measure 8 1/2 inches from palm to the top of my middle finger and 10 inches from pinky to thumb. So yeah, I've got an above average hand size.

The comparison is lacking without the left/right and free scroll, but that's because I also use my mouse for programming, free scroll with a higher refresh rate screen going through larger files in an IDE and then instant locking back to normal scroll as I see a piece I want to properly check, left/right scroll through tabs is especially useful once they start stacking too high with split groups, etc. I'm also a fan of the weight since in productivity I want the mouse to stop the moment I stop shifting it, and I often swap between a lower 800 dpi to 3200, and at the higher dpi a lighter mouse would usually mean overshoot/more control needed to stop correctly. The pricing for this mouse is also higher, here in Europe the G502 is 44 EUR including delivery on a basically permanent special, 69 EUR is not competitive (though it also seems to be on a 58 EUR special).

Of course each their own. But back in the day I had a Logitech G5, and my roommate a G7. That g7 was heavier because of the wireless and such... And I never liked it compared next to each other. Since then, i prefer lighter mice (never understood the weights you sometimes get, i always left out the entire cartridge ). The g305 lightspeed with a smaller battery has been my go to for work and gaming for a few years now. For the price , awesome. But they seem to die on me. In a whim, bought the glorious o (i believe it is). And from within minutes of unboxing and using it , i ordered two more for my other computers. It just felt soooo good instantly , the (charging) cable is just so nice and drapes around without any resistance... I was just in love instantly . _if_ you like light mice , go for anything glorious makes that seems good to you.

The Title of this video isn't the WORST clickbait.... but the G502 has 10 programmable buttons (not including the DPI button in-between the main clickers) This mouse only has 7 (not including the DPI buttons) so this glorious mouse is missing 3 buttons to be considered "competition" for the G502. I'd really like to have a G502 wireless competitor so that I don't have to worry or use logitech's crap switches - but alas - no other mouse has the same amount of buttons (10) in an equivalent or better layout than the G502 wireless yet. THE SEARCH CONTINUES

The g502 is incredible, especially for the sometimes 30 dollar price tag. Above the GPro, Model O, death adder, viper, and g303, it's been my absolute go to, despite the weight, despite the wire. It's lasted for what is basically my entire time gaming (8ish years) and had had no issues at all. Realistically, the mouse buttons will fall off before you go out of rated spec, and the mouse is plenty strong enough to withstand more than a little gamer rage

IMO, in order to really compete with the G502, it needs the same or better mouse wheel functions, especially the infinite scroll and the left and right tilt. It needs the G7+G8 buttons, and most importantly, needs to lose the wire. They've got the honeycomb design over the G502, but if Logitech ever makes a lightweight version of the Lightspeed, while keeping most of it's distinguishing features, it's going to be near impossible to beat. This Model I looks like a great start though and I'm glad that somebody is trying to beat the G502.

Mine broke after 3 months (double click issue). Which was super annoying, since it replaced my previous logitech mouse, that had the same issue, albeit after several years. I read then, that this was a common issue with that mouse, but still went with logitech g502. Sadly the support was so terribly unhelpful, that I gave up and bought another mouse (Asus Gladius II Wireless). I still miss the perfect shape and scroll wheel, but I will never recommend logitech to anyone because of the abysmal customer support

wife uses my old 502, I currently have a Wireless D-. I'll get a Wireless I or a Wireless I- if that becomes a thing. DAVID DID NOT MENTION HYPERSCROLL on the 502. I use to play DBD a lot and whenever something required a 'button mash' moment I would change the key bind to scroll down because the 502's Hyperscroll is legendary. just press the big chunky button down next to the DPI button and the scroll wheel can go for days. also, you can use canned air and get the scroll wheel up to particle accelerator speed, so it might be able to be used as a time travel device sometime.

Not a bad brand, but not a high quality brand at all. Got a glorious model D about a year ago. Sure, felt pretty good when I bought it, but now the right click creaks with every click, and the scroll wheel doesn't click into place very well. Pretty often I stop scrolling and it ends up between two spots, and I get a random extra scroll when it falls into place. I also had a glorious mousepad for a year or two. The braided edge was scratchy and frayed over time, and it did a pretty good job of scratching up my hand every time I moved too near the edge.
